この他、台湾では近年産後ケア施設や保育園、託児所が普及しており、これらの施設はいずれも集団感染のリスクを抱えている」と指摘した。
陳伯彥医師は、台湾では2019年以来、既に7年が経つがこの間には大規模な流行はなく、児童たちが深刻な免疫負債に直面していると分析している。小児科医の施勝桓医師は、市政府のワクチン補助金制度は、6歳前の高リスク期にある脆弱な子どもたちを適切に保護できると考えている。
中山医科大学附属病院の王興安医師は、子供の抗体を補充するため、経済的に恵まれない家庭は政府から補助金を受け、経済的に余裕のある家庭は、自費でできるだけ早くワクチン接種を受けさせるべきだと述べた。

The outbreak of enteric virus infection in Taiwan

台中榮總小兒感染科醫師陳伯彥示警，鄰國越南今年已累計逾2.6萬例個案，且以易致重症的EV71型為主，在台越往來頻繁下，極易隨人流跨境傳播。此外，台灣近年產後護理之家、托育與幼托盛行，這些機構皆有群聚傳染風險。

醫界也推薦「2＋1」接種模式，即2個月、4個月大接種基礎劑，1年後補打追加劑。陳伯彥表示，2歲以下幼兒感染EV71的致死率最高可達20％，必須從2個月大開始保護，而2＋1就是1年後的追加劑能有效加強免疫記
