疾病管制署（以下疾管署）は本日（7月21日）、「国内におけるCOVID-19の流行は依然拡大しており、夏休みが近づくにつれ、旅行や大規模イベントへの参加機会が増加する。休み中にも感染予防対策を徹底し、手指の衛生や咳エチケットなどの個人防護策の実施をすべきだ。
医療機関に出入りする際やソーシャルディスタンスが保てない、換気の悪い混雑した場所、高齢者や免疫力が低下している人と濃厚接触する際には、マスクの着用を；体調が悪い場合は、自宅で休養し、感染リスクを減らしてほしい」と発表した。
疾管署は、
「感染症予防・抑制のため、抗ウイルス製剤とワクチンは十分に備蓄されているが、公費提供される経口抗ウイルス薬パキロビッドは、全国1300か所以上の施設に11万3千人分が配布されており、さらに、二次治療薬ゾコーバ錠は、全国156ヶ所に1万8千人分が配備されており、注射用のレムデシビルは、全国170ヶ所以上の病院に15万5千剤が備蓄されている。
更に、ワクチンの公費接種を受けてから少なくとも6か月（180日）以上経った人への全国拡大接種は、2026年7月31日で終了する。
現在入手可能なワクチンは、モデルナ社製とノババックス社製であるが、米国とカナダで行われた研究によると、今季のCOVID-19ワクチンは、重症化や入院のリスクを最大50%低減し、感染予防に効果的だ。いずれのブランドでも安全かつ効果的で、主流ウイルス株への防御力を強化が可能であり、今季ワクチン未接種者はすぐに機会をとらえて接種してほしい」と説明している。
疾管署のデータによると、
国内のCOVID-19の流行は拡大を続け、流行の閾値に達し、流行期に入っており、第28週（7月12日～18日）の外来および救急外来受診者数は4,766人回で、前週（7月5日～11日）と比較して66.5%増加している；
先週（7月14日～20日）は、本土の重症例25例及び死亡例5例が新たに確認された。2025年10月以降、重症化した本土症例は計161例、死亡例23例が報告されている。
重症例は、65歳以上（74.5%）、慢性疾患の既往歴のある人（83.9%）に多く見られ。92.5%が今シーズンのワクチンを接種していなかった；
臨床症状は咽頭痛や咳、鼻づまり、鼻水、発熱、倦怠感、頭痛、筋肉痛などを含むが上気道症状が主となる、ごく少数の症例では、一時的な嗅覚或いは味覚の喪失または鈍化がみられることがある；直近4週において最も多く検出された変異株はNB.1.8.1であった。
世界の陽性率は最近わずかに上昇している

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) stated today (July 21) that the domestic COVID-19 epidemic continues to rise, and with the summer vacation approaching, opportunities for travel and participation in large-scale events are increasing.
The CDC urges the public to remember to practice preventative measures during their leisure time, including hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette.
When entering healthcare facilities, in crowded places where proper social distancing cannot be maintained or in poorly ventilated areas, or in close contact with the elderly or immunocompromised individuals, it is recommended to wear a mask; If feeling unwell, stay home to reduce the occasion of infection.
CDC stated that,
to prepare for a potential outbreak, it has stockpiled sufficient antiviral drugs and COVID-19 vaccines for epidemic prevention and control.
We have 113,000 doses of the publicly funded oral antiviral drug Paxlovid, distributed at over 1,300 distribution points nationwide. In addition, there are 18,000 doses of the second-line drug Xocova tablets, distributed at 156 distribution points nationwide, and 155,000 doses of injectable Remdesivir, stored in over 170 hospitals nationwide.
The nationwide rollout of publicly funded COVID-19 vaccines to those who have been vaccinated for at least 6 months (180 days) will continue until July 31, 2026.
Currently, the available COVID-19 vaccines are from Moderna and Novavax. According to research in the United States and Canada, this season’s COVID-19 vaccines are effective in preventing COVID-19, with a protection rate of up to 50% against severe illness and hospitalization.
Both vaccines are safe and effective,
enhancing protection against mainstream viral strains. We urge those who have not yet received this season’s COVID-19 vaccine to seize the opportunity and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
According to data from the Taiwan CDC,
the domestic COVID-19 epidemic continues to rise and has reached the epidemic threshold, entering the epidemic period. In week 28 (July 12-18), there were 4,766 outpatient and emergency room visits, a 66.5% increase compared to the previous seven days (July 5-11);
Last week (July 14-20), there were 25 new locally transmitted severe cases and 5 local deaths. Since October 2025, a total of 161 local cases of COVID-19 complicated by severe illness have been reported, including 23 deaths.
Severe cases are mostly among the elderly aged 65 and above (74.5%) and those with a history of chronic diseases (83.9%), and 92.5% have not received the COVID-19 vaccine this season;
Clinical manifestations are predominantly upper respiratory symptoms, including sore throat, cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, fever, fatigue, headache, and muscle aches. A very small number of cases have experienced transient loss or dullness of smell or taste; the most prevalent variant in local cases over the past four weeks is NB.1.8.1.
The global positivity rate has recently risen slightly, showing a downward or flat trend in all regions except the Western Pacific Region, where it is trending upward;
The epidemic is rising in neighboring countries/regions such as China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. Currently, the predominant circulating variant globally is NB.1.8.1 (58.76%), followed by XFG (19.07%) and JN.1 (15.46%).

疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(21)日表示，國內新冠疫情持續呈上升趨勢，且正值暑假，出遊或參加大型活動機會增加，呼籲民眾休憩時不忘防疫，應落實手部衛生及呼吸道禮節等個人防護措施，出入醫療照護機構以及於人潮聚集且無法保持適當距離或通風不良之場所、與年長者或免疫低下者密切接觸時，建議自主佩戴口罩；身體不適則在家休息，減少感染疾病機會。
疾管署說明，為因應可能疫情，目前已儲備足夠抗病毒藥物與新冠疫苗進行防疫整備，公費口服抗病毒藥物倍拉維尚有11.3萬人份，全國配置點逾1,300家，另有第二線藥物舒冠效(Xocova錠) 1.8萬人份，全國配置點為156家，以及注射用的瑞德西韋亦有庫存15.5萬劑，存放全國醫院逾170家。
另公費新冠疫苗擴大提供全國滿6個月(180天)以上民眾接種措施至今(2026)年7月31日止，
目前提供接種之新冠疫苗有Moderna及Novavax兩種廠牌，根據美國及加拿大等國研究，接種本季新冠疫苗能有效預防新冠疾病，預防重症住院之保護效果可達5成，2種廠牌新冠疫苗均安全有效，可增強對抗主流病毒株之保護力，呼籲尚未接種本季新冠疫苗民眾把握機會儘速接種。
依據疾管署監測資料顯示，
國內新冠肺炎疫情持續上升且達流行閾值，進入流行期，第28週(7/12-7/18)門急診就診計4,766人次，較前7日(7/5-7/11)上升66.5%；上週(7/14-7/20)新增25例本土重症病例及5例本土死亡病例。
去(2025)年10月起累計161例新冠併發重症本土病例，其中23例死亡，重症病例以65歲以上長者(占74.5%)及具慢性病史者(占83.9%)為多，92.5%未接種本季新冠疫苗；臨床表現多以上呼吸道症狀為主，包括喉嚨痛、咳嗽、鼻塞、流鼻水、發燒、疲倦、頭痛及肌肉痠痛等。
