今年(2026年)8月3日時点で、デング熱の確定症例は累計で111例(宮本注28例の増加)となっており、うち7例は国内感染例で、いずれも高雄市在住者だ;

感染拡大は主に南北アメリカ大陸に集中しており、ブラジルやコロンビア、ボリビアで感染者数が多くを占めている;

中でもスリランカは感染が深刻で、今年これまでに8万4千例以上の感染例が報告されている;

CDC stated today (August 4) that the international outbreak of mosquito-borne infectious diseases such as dengue fever continues, with a rise in dengue fever cases in neighboring Southeast Asian countries, increasing the risk of overseas infection.

Furthermore, according to weather forecasts, El Niño (El Niño phenomenon) may intensify in the coming months, since El Niño facilitates dengue fever transmission, and coinciding with the peak summer travel season, the CDC urges the public to take mosquito prevention measures while traveling abroad.

If any symptoms appear within 14 days of returning home, seek medical attention immediately and inform your doctor of your travel history to aid in his/her diagnosis.

CDC explained

that Taiwan reported 8 new imported dengue fever cases last week (July 28 – August 3), 3 of which were linked to a cluster infection originating in Cambodia.

The cluster of cases, involving individuals aged between their teens and thirties (2 men and 1 woman), and they traveled to Cambodia together in mid-July this year (2026) for exchange activities.

After returning to the country in late July, they developed symptoms such as fever, headache, nausea, muscle pain, and retro-orbital pain, and were diagnosed with the disease upon seeking medical attention.

Relevant health authorities have launched prevention and control measures, including source elimination and chemical control, at the individuals’ residences and activity locations, and are also tracing the health of other members of the same tour group.

This case is expected to be monitored until August 6..

According to data from CDC,

111 dengue fever cases have been confirmed as of Aug. 3, 2026, of which, 7 were locally transmitted, and all lives in Kaohsiung City; Another 104 cases were imported, all from Southeast and South Asian countries, with Indonesia (24 cases) being the most numerous, followed by 9 countries with the most cases are Vietnam (23 cases) and the Maldives (15 cases).

The cumulative number of cases this year is lower than the same period last year (2025) (133 cases).

The global dengue fever outbreak continues, with over 1.58 million cases reported worldwide as of June this year. Most cases are in the Americas, particularly in Brazil, Colombia, and Bolivia.

Neighboring Asian countries such as Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, and Bangladesh have recently seen a rise in cases, many exceeding those of the same period last year.

Sri Lanka is particularly hard hit, with over 84,000 cases reported so far this year; Cambodia is also experiencing a rapid increase, with over 28,000 cases reported so far.

CDC reminds the public

that whether traveling during the summer holidays or abroad, it is advisable to wear light-colored long-sleeved clothing and trousers when engaging in outdoor activities, and to use government-approved mosquito repellents containing effective ingredients such as DEET, Picaridin, or IR-3535 to reduce the risk of mosquito

今年截至8月3日,累計111例登革熱確定病例,其中7例為本土病例,居住地均為高雄市;

全球登革熱疫情持續,今年截至6月全球累計報告158萬餘例病例,主要分布於美洲,以巴西、哥倫比亞、玻利維亞等國病例數為多;
