疾病管制署（以下疾管署）は本日（6月16日）、「今年台湾で初の日本脳炎患者は、嘉義県大林鎮在住の50代男性で、最近の海外渡航歴はなく、6月6日に全身の倦怠感が現れ、6月7日に発熱のため医療機関を受診し、6月8日、発熱が続き、精神的に不安定になったため、2度目の受診をしました。6月9日、発熱が引かず、意識障害が続いていたため、入院治療となり、後に病院からの報告と検査の結果、日本脳炎と診断されたが、現在、彼は入院治療中だ。患者の同居家族には疑わしい症状は見られず、自宅周辺には、田んぼや用水路、豚舎など、感染リスクの高い場所が複数あり、彼が牧畜に従事しているため、自宅や職場の近くで感染した可能性も排除できない。衛生単位は、既に患者の活動現場周辺の豚舎に蚊取り器を設置するとともに、地域住民への健康教育を強化しているほか、医療機関に対し報告を強化するよう要請している」と発表した。

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced today (June 16) that the first confirmed case of Japanese encephalitis in Taiwan this year is a male in his 50s from Dalin Township, Chiayi County, who has no recent history of overseas travel. On June 6, he developed general discomfort and went to the hospital for fever on June 7. On June 8, he continued to have a fever and became mentally irritable and went to the doctor for the second time. On June 9, he was hospitalized for treatment because his fever did not subside and his consciousness changed. He was later diagnosed with Japanese encephalitis by the hospital and was currently hospitalized. The case’s family members had no suspected symptoms. There are high-risk areas such as rice fields, ditches, and pig pens near their homes. They work in animal husbandry on weekdays, and the possibility of infection near their homes and workplaces cannot be ruled out. Health authorities have hung mosquito traps in pig pens around the case’s activities, while strengthening health education for local residents and asking medical institutions to increase reporting.
According to CDC monitoring data, the Japanese encephalitis epidemic season in Taiwan is from May to October each year, with the peak period from June to July. 疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(16)日公布國內今年首例日本腦炎確定病例，為嘉義縣大林鎮50多歲男性，近期無國外旅遊史，6月6日出現全身不適症狀，6月7日因發燒就醫，6月8日持續發燒並出現精神煩躁不安二度前往就醫，6月9日因發燒未緩解且意識改變收治住院治療，後經醫院通報及採檢確診日本腦炎，目前持續住院治療中。個案同住家人均無疑似症狀，住家附近有水稻田、溝渠、豬舍等高風險場域，平日從事畜牧業工作，住家附近及工作場域附近之感染可能性均無法排除。衛生單位已針對個案活動地周邊豬舍懸掛誘蚊燈，同時加強對當地民眾之衛教宣導，並請醫療院所加強通報。
