疾病管制署（以下疾管署）は本日（8月26日）「台湾では先週（8月19日～25日）に類鼻疽症9例（うち死亡1例）が新たに報告されたが、北部居住の1例と南部居住の8例は40代から90代、その多くは糖尿病や高血圧、慢性腎疾患などの生活習慣病の病歴を持ち、6月下旬から8月中旬に発症していた。うち1例は50代の男性で、多くの慢性疾患歴があり、8月20日に下痢により病院を受診、その後に症状が続いたため8月23日に救急外来を受診、翌日に呼吸困難と呼吸不全で不幸にも死亡した。疫学調査により患者は発熱や頭痛、咳、喘ぎなど多くの症状から病院を受診していた； また、他の2名は地下水を長期間利用しており、更に4名の患者には汚水汚泥との接触歴があった。現在、8名の患者は皆病院で入院治療中だが、うち4例はICUに入っており、同居している接触者からは症状は見つかっていない。
疾管署はまた「先週、新たにレプトスピラ症患者6例が増えたが、台湾北部と中部で各1例ずつ、南部で4例、年齢的には20代から70代で、
7月下旬から8月中旬にかけて発症していた。ほとんどの症例は、発熱や筋肉痛、下痢などを主訴に医療機関を受診していた。調査の結果、患者のうち4人は林業や農地、菜園などで働いており、1人は野良動物の近くに住んでおり；患者のうち4人には下水汚泥への曝露歴があったことが判明している；5人は治療後に退院しているが、1人は集中治療室に入院中である；自宅や職場でこの男性と接触した人々からは、疑わしい症状は見られておらず、衛生単位は既に関連健康教育を実施している」と発表した。

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced today (26th) that there were 9 new local cases of melioidosis in Taiwan last week (8/19-8/25) (one of which died). One case lived in the north and 8 in the south. The ages ranged from 40 to 90 years old. Most of them had a history of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. The onset of the disease was between late June and mid-August. One of the cases was a male in his 50s with a history of multiple chronic diseases. He sought medical treatment for diarrhea on 8/20. Later, due to persistent symptoms, he went to the emergency room on 8/23 and died the next day due to dyspnea and respiratory failure. The epidemic investigation found that most cases sought medical treatment due to symptoms such as fever, headache, cough, and wheezing; another 2 cases had been using groundwater for a long time, and 4 cases had a history of contact with sewage sludge. Currently, all 8 cases are still hospitalized, 4 of whom are admitted to the intensive care unit. None of the contacts living with them have any suspected symptoms.
The CDC also stated that6 new local cases of leptospirosis were reported last week: 1 in northern Taiwan, 1 in central Taiwan, and 4 in southern Taiwan. Their ages ranged from their 20s to their 70s, with onset of illness between late July and mid-August. Most cases sought medical attention due to symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, or diarrhea. Epidemic investigations revealed that four of the patients worked in forestry, farmland, or vegetable gardens, and one case lived near stray animals. Four of the cases had a history of exposure to sewage sludge. Five cases have been discharged after treatment, while one remains in the intensive care unit. Cohabiting and workplace contacts have shown no symptoms, and health authorities have provided relevant health education.

疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(26)日公布國內上週(8/19-8/25)新增9例類鼻疽本土病例(其中1例死亡)，居住於北部1例及南部8例，年齡介於40多歲至90多歲，多具糖尿病、高血壓、慢性腎臟病等慢性病史，發病日介於6月下旬至8月中旬。其中一例50多歲男性因有多重慢性病史，於8/20因腹瀉就醫，後因症狀持續於8/23至急診就醫，於隔日因呼吸困難及呼吸衰竭不幸死亡。經疫情調查發現，個案多因發燒、頭痛、咳嗽、呼吸喘等症狀就醫；另2名個案長期使用地下水，有4名個案有污水污泥接觸史。目前8名個案均仍住院治療中，其中4名收治於加護病房，同住接觸者皆無疑似症狀。
疾管署另說明，上週新增6例鉤端螺旋體病本土病例，居住於北部1例、中部1例及南部4例，年齡介於20多歲至70多歲，發病日介於7月下旬至8月中旬，個案多因發燒、肌肉痛或腹瀉等症狀就醫。經疫情調查發現，其中4名從事與山林或農地菜園等相關之工作，1名個案居住環境附近時有流浪動物出沒；另其中4名個案有汙水汙泥接觸史。5名個案治療後已出院，1名個案仍於加護病房治療中；同住及職場接觸者均無疑似症狀，衛生單位已進行相關衛生教育。
