疾病管制署（以下疾管署）は「本日（8月12日）、約10年ぶりにブルセラ症の輸入症例が確認されたが、症例は台湾北部在住の50代の台湾人男性で、2025年4月に新疆ウイグル自治区を訪れ、動物市場で羊や馬と接触をもっており、7月上旬に発熱や悪寒などの症状が現れ、複数回にわたり医療機関を受診していた。その後、肝機能亢進のため病院に搬送され、発熱と肝脾腫から入院をし、血液培養検査によりブルセラ菌が確認され、治療を受けた後、最近退院した。患者の家族および海外旅行同行者には現在、疑わしい症状はない。さらに、我が国ではこの細菌属がレベル3のリスクグループ（RG3）の微生物に分類されているため、衛生単位も規定に基づき本症例の検査担当者のリスクレベルもレベル3対応として分類したとともに健康観察と曝露後治療の評価を実施している」と発表した。
疾管署は「ブルセラ症は世界的な感染症であり、特に東アジアや中央アジア、中東、アフリカ、地中海地域でよく見られる；疾管署のサーベイランスデータによると、台湾では2011年に5例の輸入症例が見つかっているが、感染地は北アフリカ、マレーシア、中国が起源であった；2012年にブルセラ症が第四類の法定感染症サーベイランスプログラムとされて以来、2例の輸入症例が報告されているがインドネシア及び中国からの輸入症例であり本土症例は報告されていない」と説明している。

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced today (August 12) the first confirmed imported case of brucellosis in nearly a decade. The case involves a Taiwanese male in his 50s living in northern Taiwan. He traveled to Xinjiang in April this year (2025) and had contact with sheep and horses at an animal market. In early July, the patient developed symptoms such as fever and chills and visited the clinic several times. The patient was subsequently transferred to a hospital due to elevated liver function and hospitalized for fever and hepatosplenomegaly. A blood culture confirmed Brucella bacteria, and the patient was recently discharged after treatment. The case’s family members and overseas travel companions currently have no suspected symptoms. Further, because our country has classified this genus of bacteria as a third-level risk group (RG3) microorganism, health authorities have also classified the risk levels of the laboratory operators in this case in accordance with regulations, and conducted health monitoring and assessment of post-exposure treatment.

疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(12)日公布近10年首例布氏桿菌病境外移入確定病例，為居住北部50多歲本國籍男性，今(2025)年4月至新疆旅遊，曾於動物市集接觸羊隻和馬匹，7月初出現發燒、寒顫等不適症狀，多次前往診所就醫，後續因肝指數偏高轉至醫院，並因發燒及肝脾腫大而住院治療，血液培養之菌株經鑑定為布氏桿菌，經治療後已於日前出院。個案之同住家人及國外旅遊同行者目前無疑似症狀，另因我國已將此菌屬列為第三級危險群(RG3)微生物，故衛生單位亦已就本案實驗室操作人員依規範區分風險等級，並進行健康監測及評估暴露後處置。
疾管署說明，布氏桿菌病是全球性的疾病，於東亞、中亞、中東、非洲、地中海沿岸較為常見；依據疾管署監測資料顯示，國內曾於2011年出現5例境外移入病例，感染國家分別為北非、馬來西亞及中國；而自2012年將布氏桿菌病納入第四類法定傳染病監測後，迄今累計2例境外移入病例，分別自印尼及中國移入，無本土病例發生。
