秋~春季が流行期だが、中国南方では夏場にも患者が増えていることが報告されている。COVID-19による感染症への影響をチェックしている中で、2019年12月に120万例近い患者が発生、2020年も100万例に迫る情況があったがなぜ最近こんなに増えているのか、数字をにわかには信じられない。 インフルエンザは2020年（1,145,278例）、2021年（668,246例）、2022年は2,442,797例、2023年には12,780,291例と1200万例越え。
2024年は8,417,396例（確報）と2019年の3倍近くとなり、2023年に次ぐ過去ワースト2に。
2025年は累計ベースだが17,281,873例と2024年より200万増えて過去最多記録に。
2026年1月度は2025年12月の8割減となったがそれでも2009年以来の単月ワースト2記録となる発症1,361,570（死亡3）例となった。

According to the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention (NDCPA)’s monthly report of “Reportable Infectious Disease in China, Jan. 2026” issued on Feb. 9, 2025, we visualized the past several years’ diagnosed cases / Death case in several slides (PDF style).
“Influenza” in mainland China:
While we are checking COVID-19’s influence to other infectious diseases, we noticed that the number of influenza cases in December 2019 and January 2020 is so unique. i.e., they reported more than 1 million cases in December and almost 1 million cases in January.
While the typical epidemic season is autumn through spring, there have been reports of an increase in cases in southern China even in the summer.
When monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on infectious diseases, nearly 1.2 million cases occurred in December 2019 and approached one million in 2020. It’s hard to believe the numbers, but why has the number increased so much recently?
Influenza cases totaled 1,145,278 in 2020, 668,246 in 2021, 2,442,797 in 2022, and 12,780,291 in 2023, exceeding 12 million cases.
In the year 2024, there were 8,417,396 confirmed cases, nearly three times the number in 2019, making it the second worst on record after 2023. The cumulative number for 2025 is 17,281,873, an increase of 2 million from 2024 and the highest number ever recorded..
The number of cases in January 2026 was 80% lower than in December 2025, but still reached 1,361,570 cases (3 deaths), the second worst single-month record since 2009..
