国家疾病预防控制局は2月9日、2026年1月度の全国法定伝染病情報を発布。

中国国家疾病预防控制局2月9日発表に基づき、2026年1月度（1月1日～31日分）のデータを加え、2008年からの推移、月別発症・死亡者数の推移をグラフ化しています。

中国における 『日本脳炎』 （2026年1月）：

日本脳炎は中国では乙型脳炎（B型脳炎）と呼ばれる。 蚊に刺されることで感染するため、夏場に患者が多くなる。

2016年は、2015年の 2倍を超える 1237人となり、
2017年は1,417人となった。
2018年度は1800人に調整された（7％強の削除：前年比では27％増）。2019年に発症者数416人（死者数13人）となり、2020年288例、2021年207例、2022年146例、2023年205例、2024年125例（確報）となり減少するも、2025年は累計ベースで135例とやや悪化。 

2026年1月度は、Wolbachia効果なのか、2009年以後の単月ベスト記録となる発症0（死亡1）例と相変わらず低いレベルが続く。

According to the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention (NDCPA)’s monthly report of “Reportable Infectious Disease in China, Jan. 2026” issued on Feb. 9, 2025, we visualized the past several years’ diagnosed cases / Death case in several slides (PDF style).

“Japanese Encephalitis” in mainland China:

Since this Infectious disease is infected through mosquito, the case being diagnosed will increase in the summer season.
From the third peak of 2007, Diagnosed cases and death is decreasing year by year.
Followings are year-base number of incidents;

With mainland cases of chikungunya fever exploding in Guangdong Province (it’s already decreasing, but we don’t see many announcements from the authorities!), it’s tempting to wonder if that’s really all there is to it, but have China’s mosquito control measures really wiped out mosquitoes (Culex tritaeniorhynchus)?

In response to my question, a doctor I know emailed me back, saying, “I thought it was ‘common knowledge’ that Wolbachia was reducing dengue fever!” He also told me that “Singapore has achieved the greatest results.”

The achievement of eradicating vector mosquitoes from China using Wolbachia is significant.
