疾病管制署（以下「疾管署」）は本日（8月12日）、「髄膜炎菌性髄膜炎の新たな本土症例1例が確認されたが、患者は台湾南部出身の70代男性で、がんや慢性閉塞性肺疾患などの慢性疾患の既往歴があったが、海外渡航歴はなく、今年7月25日に喘息のため入院し、8月3日、突然の意識障害と血中酸素濃度が低下し、当日死亡した。その後、病院からの報告並びに検査の結果、髄膜炎菌性髄膜炎に罹患していたことが確認された。関連の接触者は既に全て衛生教育及び健康観察がなされており、医師の評価により検体検査或いは予防薬投与がなされている」と発表した。
疾管署は、その監視データから今年台湾で確認された流行性脳脊髄膜炎患者は6例となっている。2016～2024 年までの統計では、例年の発症者数は1～12人の範囲であり、症例の感染年齢は25～64歳（30%）であり、これに19～24歳および65相以上（それぞれ23％）が次ぐ。症例には髄膜炎菌B型への感染が常

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced today (August 12) that one new local case of meningococcal meningitis has been confirmed. The case, a man in his 70s from southern Taiwan, had a history of chronic illnesses including cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, but no international travel history. and was hospitalized for asthma on July 25th of this year. On August 3rd, he suddenly experienced a change in consciousness and a drop in his blood oxygen level. He died on the same day and was later reported to the hospital and confirmed to have been infected with epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis. All relevant contacts have been arranged for health education and health monitoring, and doctors have assessed whether to take tests or preventive medications.
The CDC explained that according to the CDC’s monitoring data, there has been a total of 6 confirmed cases of epidemic meningitis in Taiwan this year. Statistics from 2016 to 2024 showed that the cumulative number of cases each year was between 1 and 12 cases. The majority of infected individuals were aged 25-64 (accounting for 30%), followed by 19-24 and over 65 (each accounting for 23%). The most common cases are infected with Neisseria meningitidis

疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(12)日公布新增1例本土流行性腦脊髓膜炎確定病例，為南部70多歲男性，有癌症及慢性阻塞性肺病等慢性疾病史，無國外旅遊史，於今年7月25日因呼吸喘住院治療，8月3日突然意識改變，血氧濃度降低，於當日死亡，後經醫院通報並經檢驗確認感染流行性腦脊髓膜炎，相關接觸者皆已安排衛教及健康監測，並由醫師評估是否採檢或預防性投藥。
疾管署說明，依據疾管署監測資料顯示，國內今年累計6例流行性腦脊髓膜炎確定病例。2016年至2024年統計資料顯示，每年累計病例數介於1-12例，個案感染年齡以25-64歲為多（占30%），其次為19-24歲及65歲以上(各占23%)，病例以感染腦膜炎雙球菌B型最常見。
