疾病管制署（以下疾管署）は本日（11月19日）、今年のインフルエンザシーズンの重症患者数は、10月1日から11月18日までにインフルエンザ合併症の重症患者数が累計で219例（A型H1N1型206例、A型H3N2型9例、A型未分類2例、B型2例）となったと発表。うち、死亡者は34例（A型H1N1が33例、A型H3N2は1例）となったが、これはこの10年の最多となった。34例の死亡者は今シーズンのインフルエンザ予防ワクチンを接種していなかった。
