疾病管制署（以下「疾管署」）は本日（2月18日）「今週は引き続き寒気団が強く、呼吸器感染症の発生確率が高まる可能性があり、また、国内外ではCOVID-19の流行が続いており、最近では元宵節などのイベント時に人が集まる頻度も増加し、感染リスクは依然として高く、重症化リスクには引き続き注意せねばならない。国民に暖かくするようにして、特に65歳以上の高齢者や慢性疾患を抱えている重症化や死亡リスクが高い人には、早急にJN.1ワクチンの接種を忘れてはならず、重症化や入院リスクを 50～60% 防げる Moderna か Novavaxのワクチン接種を選択してほしい」と呼び掛けた。

疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(18)日表示，本週冷氣團持續發威，易提高呼吸道傳染病發生機率，且目前國內外新冠疫情持續，又近期元宵燈節活動等人群聚集頻率增加，疾病傳播風險仍高，須持續注意重症病例發生風險，呼籲民眾注意保暖的同時，別忘了儘速接種JN.1疫苗，尤其是感染易併發重症及死亡的65歲以上長者及具慢性疾病等高風險族群，請從Moderna及Novavax兩種廠牌擇一接種，可預防重症住院的保護效益達50-60%。
疾管署說明，國內上週(2/11-2/17)新增12例新冠併發重症本土病例，較前一週(2/4-2/10)新增9例略增，自2024/9/1起截至2025/2/17，新冠併發重症本土病例累計488例，其中105例死亡，均以65歲以上長者及具慢性病
