エイズの男性患者は8割近く 広西・雲南の発症率が最高
2016年末までで、全世界で3,670万名、中国では66万余名のエイズ患者が報告されている。
中国疾病予防管理センター（以下CDC）エイズセンターのデータによると、2016年に中国で新たに発見が報告されたHIV感染者とエイズ患者の数は12万名あまりとなっている。
地理的には、広西のエイズ発症率が最高となっており、2015年には10万人あたり13.25人が新発のエイズ患者となっており、次いで雲南省、四川省、重慶市、新疆ウィグル自治区となり、山東省の発症率(0.62人)が最低だった。
2016年末時点で、中国では全人口中に占めるエイズウィルス感染率は約0.05％だが、雲南省や広西、新疆、四川、重慶等5つの地区の感染率は0.1％を超えている。うち、四川省にある4県では感染率が1％を超えていた。
