中央流行疫情指揮センターは、「本3月23日、新たにCOVID-19の輸入症例1例（第1008号）が確定診断されたが、患者は20代のオランダ籍男性で、2021年2月8日、仕事のために来台。 入国時に症状はなく、出国3日以内の陰性証明も保持しており、更に防疫ホテルで隔離を受けていた」と発表。
指揮センターは、「患者には2月23日の隔離期間満了後に、仕事の必要から病院に行き自費でPCR検査を受け陰性とされていたが、オランダへの帰国目的で3月21日にもう一度自費でPCR検査を受けたところCOVID-19陽性となり、本23日確定診断された（Ct値は36、翌日のPCR検査は陰性、血清抗体IgMが陰性、IgG陽性）。 患者は、台湾に滞在中に症状はなく、既に濃厚接触者3人が把握されており、うち2人が在宅隔離対象に、いま1人は自主健康管理とされた」としている。

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (Mar. 23) a new confirmed case of imported COVID-19 in China (Case 1008), he is a Dutch male in his 20s. He came to Taiwan to work on February 8, 2021. He had a negative test report within 3 days before the flight. He entered the country asymptomatic and went to the epidemic prevention hotel for quarantine.
The command center pointed out that after the expiration of the quarantine period on February 23, the case went to the hospital for an examination at his own expense due to work needs. The result was negative. Expecting to return to the Netherlands, he went to the hospital again on March 21 to take a test at his own expense and was found to be positive for COVID-19. He was diagnosed today (Ct value 36, nucleic acid tested negative the next day, serum antibody IgM negative, IgG positive). The case was asymptomatic during his stay in Taiwan, and 3 contacts have been known, of which 2 are listed in home isolation and 1 is listed in independent health management.
According to the statistics of the command center, so far, there have been a total of 185,001 notifications related to novel coronavirus pneumonia in China (including 182,950 excluded cases). 中央流行疫情指揮中心今(23)日公布國內新增1例境外移入COVID-19確定病例(案1008)，為荷蘭籍20多歲男性，今(2021)年2月8日來臺工作，持有搭機前3日內檢驗陰性報告，入境時無症狀，並至防疫旅館檢疫。
指揮中心指出，個案2月23日檢疫期滿後，因工作需要，曾至醫院自費採檢，結果為陰性，因預計返回荷蘭，3月21日再次前往醫院自費採檢，檢出COVID-19陽性，於今日確診(Ct值36，次日核酸檢測為陰性，血清抗體IgM為陰性、IgG為陽性)。個案在臺期間並無症狀，已掌握接觸者3人，其中2人列居家隔離、1人列自主健康管理。
