新疆ウィグル自治区衛生健康委員会最新情報によれば、8月28日0時 ～ 24時の間に、新疆ウィグル自治区（生産建設兵団含む）で 新たな確診症例、無症状感染者のゼロ報告が続いている； 新たに増えた治癒退院確診患者は19例、医学観察を解除された無症状感染者は5例であったが全てウルムチ市からのものと発表した。
7月15日から 今回の流行のもととなった最初の確診症例が出て以来、 8月16日にウルムチ市は初の新たな患者報告ゼロ（0）を報告、8月18日には、新発患者も無症状感染者のいずれもで『ゼロ報告』がされている。

According to the latest report from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Health Commission, from 0:00 to 24:00 on August 28, there have been zero reports of new cases and asymptomatic infections in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (including the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps); There were 19 newly cured and discharged diagnosed cases, and 5 cases of asymptomatic infections were lifted from medical observation, all in Urumqi.
