台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、本日5月16日、「新たに増えたCOVID-19確診症例は61754例（うち本土症例61697、輸入症例57例：35例は着陸時検査で陽性とされたもの）；更に、確診症例中では、29例の死亡者が出た」と発表。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに増えた国内症例61697例は、5歳未満から90代の男性29648例、女性32032例、性別調査中17例だ。患者分布は、新台北市（19898例）、台北市（9274例）、桃園市（8635例）、台中市（4357例）、高雄市（4191例）、台南市（2612例）、基隆市（1756例）、宜蘭県（1646例）、新竹県（1635例）、彰化県（1411例）、屏東県（1092例）、苗栗県（1014例）、花蓮県（860例）、新竹市（832例）、雲林県（644例）、南投県（493例）、嘉義県（401例）、台東県（379例）、嘉義市（254例）、金門県（153例）、澎湖県（141例）、および連江県（19例）。関連の調査が進行中である」としている。

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (May 16) that there were 61,754 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in China, including 61,697 local and 57 imported cases (35 were positive for flight landing tests); further, there were 29 deaths.
The command center stated that the new 61697 local cases today are 29648 males and 32032 females, (17 are under investigation of gender), aged between under 5 years old and 90s. The distribution of cases is New Taipei City (19898 cases), Taipei City (9274 cases), Taoyuan City (8635 cases), Taichung City (4357 cases), Kaohsiung City (4191 cases), Tainan City (2612 cases), Keelung City (1756 cases), Yilan County (1646 cases), Hsinchu County (1635 cases), Changhua County (1411 cases), Pingtung County (1092 cases), Miaoli County (1014 cases), Hualien County (860 cases), Hsinchu City (832 cases), Yunlin County (644 cases), Nantou County (493 cases), Chiayi County (401 cases), Taitung County (379 cases), Chiayi City (254 cases), Jinmen County (153 cases), Penghu County (141 cases), Lianjiang County (19 case).
