台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、「7月23日、新たにCOVID-19確診症例が24例増えたが、それぞれ、本土症例23例、輸入症例1例となっている；更に、確診症例中、新たに2例が死亡した」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに国内症例23例が増えた（うち11例は在宅隔中或いは隔離期間満了検査で陽性となった人である：（宮本注：つまり、2週間或いは3週間を超えて感染が確認された事例が斯くも多く存在しているという情報を台湾政府が認めている！）が、20代から50代までの男性19人、女性4人であり、2021年7月10日～7月22日の間に発症していた。 患者分布は、と新北市が13例と最多で、次いでと台北市と桃園市の各4例、宜蘭県及び高雄市の各1例となっている； そのうち、18例の感染源は既に判明、5例は関連不明、0例が疫学調査中となっているが、関連調査は今なお進められている」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「本日新たに増えた死亡例2例中、第7734号は80代女性だが、慢性疾患と他の確診症例との接触歴があった； 5月26日に発熱や咳及び咽頭痛などの症状が現れたため、病院に行き検査を受けたが、同日帰宅後に死亡し、5月29日に確定診断された。 第14617号は、60代男性だが、性疾患と他の確診症例との接触歴があった； 患者には6月24日になって発熱や喘ぎ、全身の脱力感が現れ、同日24日に病院で検査を受けて入院治療していたが、6月26日に確定診断され7月20日に死亡した」と発表。
指揮センターは、「最近隔離を解除された確診症例については、5月11日～ 7月21日迄に発表された14,280例中、既に12,501人が隔離を解除されており、確診患者総数の87.5％が隔離解除されたことになる」と指摘する。
指揮センターは、「本日増えた輸入症例1例（第15641号）は、クロアチア籍の10歳未満男児だが、出発前72時間以内の陰性証明書を携えて6月28日に家族とともに親戚を訪ねていたスイスから来台。入境後は防疫ホテルで隔離を受け、7月10日に隔離期間満了前検査を受けた際には陰性であったが、同行の家族（第15370号）が確定診断されたために衛生単位が別の場所を手配して隔離され、7月22日に在宅隔離期間満了前検査を受けたところ、本日確定診断された（Ct値29）；患者は台湾に入ってから無症状であった

指揮中心表示，今日新增之23例本土病例(其中11例為居家隔離期間或期滿檢驗陽性者)，為19例男性、4例女性，年齡介於20多歲至50多歲，發病日介於今(2021)年7月10日至7月22日。個案分布以新北市13例為最多，其次為臺北市及桃園市各4例、宜蘭縣及高雄市各1例；其中18例為已知感染源，餘5例關聯不明，將持續進行疫情調查，以釐清感染源。
指揮中心說明，今日新增2例死亡個案中，案7734為80多歲女性，具慢性病史及其他確診者接觸史；5月26日因出現發燒、咳嗽及喉嚨痛症狀前往就醫採檢，同日返家後死亡，並於5月29日確診。案14617為60多歲男性，具慢性病史及其他確診者接觸史；個案於6月24日出現發燒、呼吸喘及全身無力症狀，同日就醫採檢並住院治療，6月26日確診，7月20日死亡。
指揮中心指出，近期確診個案解隔離情形，5月11日至7月21日累計公布 14,280位確診個案中，已有12,501人解除隔離，解隔離人數達確診人數87.5%。
