台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、「7月16日、新たにCOVID-19確診症例が32例増えたが、それぞれ、本土症例29例、輸入症例3例となっている；更に、確診症例中、新たに4例が死亡した」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに国内症例29例が増えた（うち7例は在宅隔中或いは隔離期間満了検査で陽性となった人である：（宮本注：つまり、2週間或いは3週間を超えて感染が確認された事例が斯くも多く存在しているという情報を台湾政府が認めている！））が、5歳未満から60代までの男性17人、女性12人であり、2021年7月5日～7月15日の間に発症していた。 患者分布は、台北市が14例と最多で、次いで新北市の11例、桃園市2例、宜蘭県及び彰化県の各1例となっている； そのうち、21例の感染源は既に判明、4例は関連不明、4例が疫学調査中となっているが、関連調査は今なお進められている」と発表した。

指揮センターは、「最近隔離を解除された確診症例については、5月11日～ 7月14日迄に発表された14,130例中、既に12,131人が隔離を解除されており、確診患者総数の85.9％が隔離解除されたことになる」と指摘する。

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced on July 16 that there were 32 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan consisting of 29 local cases and 3 imported cases from abroad. There were 4 new deaths among the confirmed cases.
The command center said, the newly added 29 local cases (of which 7 cases were those who tested positive during home quarantine/isolation or after the expiry date of isolation) today are 17 males and 12 females, aged under 5 to in their 60s, with onset dates between July 5 and July 15, 2021. The distribution of cases is 14 cases in Taipei City, followed by 11 cases in New Taipei City, 2 cases in Taoyuan City, 1 case each in Yilan County and Changhua County; Out of 29 local cases, 21 cases are known their sources of infection, 4 cases’ relation is unknown, 4 cases are under investigation. Related epidemic investigations are ongoing.
The command center described, there are 4 new deaths today, 4 male and 0 females, aged in their 60s to 90s, and the onset date is between May 24 and June 16. The date of diagnosis is between May 26 and June 24, and the date of death is between July 9 and July 14. Details are as attached to the press release.
The command center pointed out that as for the recently released diagnosed cases from isolation, 12,131 people have been released from quarantine, among 14,130 confirmed cases announced from May 11 to July 14. The number of people released from quarantine has reached 85.9% of the confirmed cases.
The command center said, today, there are 3 new cases of immigration from abroad. Case 15,468 is an American male in his 50s. He came to work in Taiwan from the United States on July 2 and had a negative test report within 3 days before the flight. 中央流行疫情指揮中心今(16)日公布國內新增32例COVID-19確定病例，分別為29例本土及3例境外移入；另確診個案中新增4例死亡。
指揮中心表示，今日新增之29例本土病例(其中7例為居家隔離期間或期滿檢驗陽性者)，為17例男性、12例女性，年齡介於未滿5歲至60多歲，發病日介於今(2021)年7月5日至7月15日。個案分布以臺北市14例為最多，其次為新北市11例、桃園市2例、宜蘭縣及彰化縣各1例；其中21例為已知感染源、4例關聯不明、4例調查中，相關疫情調查持續進行中。
