台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、本日12月09日、「新たに国内でCOVID-19確診症例（第16816号）が1例増えたが、台湾籍20代女性であり、中央研究院のゲノム研究センターの研究室で研究者をしており、最近の出国歴はなく、すでにモデルナ製ワクチンを2回接種していた。 患者は、11月中旬に作業の過程で病原への接触があったものの、当時症状はなかったが； 11月26日より軽微な咳が出始め、12月4日に咳が激しくなり、12月8日に嗅覚味覚異常が現れたため病院を受診し、検査を受けたところ本日確診された。」と発表した。
指揮センターは、今回本土で確診症例が見つかったことで、指揮センターはまず計85人の関連接触者をリストアップ、全員を集中検疫所に隔離し、検査を実施している。 うち、1人が陰性と判明したが残りの接触者をリストアップ中であると説明。 さらに、病院からの通報を受領後、疾病管制署（CDC）の予防管理医師らを手配し、実験室での調査を進めると同時に、専門家によるアドバイザリーグループの張商春が、流行と予防策に関する検討をするために会議を招集したと説明した：
一、 患者が所属していた実験室の使用は暫時停止され、同じ階の人はみな在宅隔離とした。
二、 実験室への入退出記録とビデオを調べ、接触の可能性がある人とオペレーションの状況を把握した。
三、 実験室のビルにいたスタッフは全員12月10日に作業を停止し、9日から自己健康観察に入っており、もし不快な症状が出た場合、直ちに衛生単位に連絡することとした。
四、 中央研究院は、10日以内に調査の検討結果を報告するものとし、式センターはバイオセーフティの専門家による調査チームを研究所に派遣することとした。

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (9) a new confirmed case of COVID-19 in China (Case 16816), a Taiwanese woman in her 20s. She used to be a laboratory researcher at the Genomic Research Center of Academia Sinica. She has no recent entry and exit records and has received 2 doses of Modena vaccine. The case had been exposed to the pathogen during work in mid-November, and was currently asymptomatic. She began to develop a mild cough on November 26, and intensified on December 4, and developed abnormal smell and taste on December 8. After seeking medical examination, she was diagnosed today.
The command center explained that in response to this local confirmed case, the command center has initially listed a total of 85 relevant contacts. All of them have been placed in a centralized quarantine station for isolation and inspection. One of them is negative, and the remaining contacts continue to be listed. The command center further explained that after receiving the notification from the hospital, the disease control physicians and colleagues were immediately arranged to investigate at the laboratory. At the same time, the expert advisory group Zhang Shangchun convened and held a meeting to discuss the epidemic and prevention measures. Measures include:
1. The laboratory where the case belongs is suspended, and all personnel on the same floor are isolated at home.
2. Read the laboratory entry and exit records and video tapes to grasp possible contacts and understand the operation situation.

中央流行疫情指揮中心今(9)日公布國內新增1例COVID-19本土確定病例(案16816)，為本國籍20多歲女性，曾任中央研究院基因體研究中心實驗室研究人員，近期無出入境紀錄，已接種2劑莫德納疫苗。個案於11月中旬工作過程曾接觸過病原，當下並無症狀；11月26日開始出現輕微咳嗽，12月4日咳嗽加劇，12月8日出現嗅、味覺異常，就醫採檢後，於今日確診。
指揮中心說明，因應本例本土確定病例，指揮中心已初步匡列相關接觸者共85人，均安排於集中檢疫所隔離，並進行採檢，其中1人為陰性，其餘接觸者持續匡列中。指揮中心進一步說明，在接獲醫院通報個案後，隨即安排疾病管制署防疫醫師、同仁至該實驗室進行調查，同時由專家諮詢小組張上淳召集人到場指導並召開會議，針對疫情及防治作為進行討論，採取措施包括：
一、個案所屬實驗室暫停使用，同樓層人員全數居家隔離。
二、調閱實驗室進出紀錄及錄影帶，以掌握可能接觸者及瞭解運作情形。
三、實驗室全棟人員12月10日停止上班，且於9日起自我健康監測，如有不適症狀立即聯絡衛生單位。
四、要求中央研究院10日內提出調查檢討報告，指揮中心將派生物安全專家調查小組前往該實驗室進行調查。
