台湾感染症指揮センターは、 5月1日より、 台湾籍を 持たない 或いは 台湾の 健康保険の 対象ではない 大陸からの 旅行者がH7N9 鳥インフルエンザに 感染していた場合、 隔離期間中の 病棟費用や ウィルス検査費用、 抗ウィルス製剤 および 食事費用は 台湾当局が 負担するものの、 その他の 医療費用は 患者の 自己負担とすると 発表した。
従来は、 治療費用は 全額免除だったが、 台湾 島内から 異論が出ていた。

Taiwan CDC announced that since May 1, 2013 onward, including non-Taiwanese tourists from mainland and those who are not covered by Taiwanese health insurance should pay other cost of treatment than the ward fee during isolation period, virus inspection fees, antiviral drugs and meal fee which are to be supported by Taiwan authority.
Previously, the cost of treatment was free, which elicited objection in the island.
