広東省CDCのH7N9鳥インフルエンザ専門家グループ長の鐘南山は、ヒト感染H7N9鳥インフルエンザ発症後5日以内にタミフルを使用することで重症化を顕著に減少できると認識している。
5月2日、広東省が緊急開催した全省ヒト感染H7N9鳥インフルエンザ予防管理専門家グループの第二回工作会議上、鐘南山は、「これまでの臨床研究から、発症後5日以内にタミフルなどのノイラミニターゼ抑制剤を使用することで患者の重症化率を顕著に減少させられる、それ故に『早期診断、早期治療、早期使用抗ウイルス薬物が重症患者を減らし、死亡率を下げるキーとなる』。これまでの状況下で、インフルエンザ患者、特に鳥類との接触歴がある患者に対しては、速やかに達菲などのノイラミニターゼ抑制剤を使い、副腎皮質ステロイドは使わぬように」と指摘。 このほか、息切れ（SOB）が患者を重症化させる重要な症状であり、臨床医は十分に注意することが必要で、速やかに重症患者を識別し、重症患者を見つけたら速やかに条件の整った指定医院に送致して全力で治療にあたるべきだとした。

广东省防控H7N9禽流感专家组组长钟南山认为，人感染H7N9禽流感发病5日内使用达菲可显著减少重症。
在广东省2日紧急召开的全省人感染H7N9禽流感防控专家组第二次工作会议上，钟南山指出，目前的临床研究显示，发病5天内使用达菲等神经氨酸酶抑制剂会显著减少转为重症的概率，因此早诊断、早治疗，早期使用抗病毒药物是减少重症病例和降低死亡率的关键。在目前情况下，对流感患者尤其是有禽类接触史的患者可以尽早使用达菲等神经氨酸酶抑制剂，不推荐使用皮质激素。此外，气促是患者转为重症的重要症状，临床医生要提高警惕，及时鉴别和发现重症病例，发现重症病例应立即转送到有条件的指定医院全力救治。
