疾病管制署（以下疾管署）は本日（8月28日）、「国際的なMpoxの流行は拡大を続けており、世界保健機関（WHO）は、8月20日、Mpox流行に関する「国際的に懸念される公衆衛生上の緊急事態（PHEIC）」の状態をさらに一年延長すると発表し、世界各国に対し、引き続きサーベイランスと報告の実施や関連の予防制御研究の強化、地域社会との協力強化、防疫リソースへの投資を勧告している。台湾では夏休み期間中にMpoxの流行がピークを迎えたが、8月に新たに本土症例3例が確認された。いずれも20代から40代の男性で、台湾北部の1例、台湾中部の2例であるが、発疹や水疱、膿疱などの症状が出たため、医師の診察と検査を受けて報告されている。疫学調査の結果、これら症例は散発的なものであると判明、リスクのある行為を行うものは、すぐにワクチンの2回接種完了を強く推奨する」と発表した。
疾管署は、「台湾は2022年6月23日よりMpoxを第二類の法定感染症に指定している。今年8月27日現在で累計483例（国内451例、輸入32例）が報告されているが、この中には、今年に入って国内症例27例、輸入症例4例（中国から2例、香港とタイで各1例）が含まれており、市中感染リスクは依然として残っている。さらに、Mpox の世界的な流行は続いており、今年初めから7 月 31 日までに、既に34,000例を超え、死者数も138例となっている。感染者は主にアフリカとアメリカ大陸で発生している。アジア

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced today (August 28) that the international Mpox epidemic continues to spread. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the pox epidemic a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) for another year on August 20, recommending that all countries continue to implement surveillance and reporting, strengthen relevant prevention and control scientific research, enhance community cooperation, and invest in epidemic prevention resources. The pox epidemic peaked during the summer vacation in China, but three new local cases of pox were confirmed in August. These cases are men in their 20s to 40s (one in northern Taiwan and two in central Taiwan). Due to symptoms such as rashes, blisters, and pustules, they were evaluated by a physician and tested. Epidemiological investigations revealed that these cases were sporadic. Individuals at risk are urged to complete two doses of the pox vaccine as soon as possible.
The CDC noted that Taiwan has designated smallpox as a Category II notifiable infectious disease since June 23, 2022. As of August 27, 2020, a total of 483 cases have been confirmed (451 domestic and 32 imported). Of these, 27 domestic and 4 imported cases have been reported this year (2 in China, 1 each in Hong Kong and Thailand). The risk of community transmission remains high. 疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(28)日表示，國際M痘疫情持續蔓延，世界衛生組織(下稱WHO)已於8月20日宣告將M痘疫情之「國際關注公共衛生緊急事件(PHEIC)」狀態再延長1年，並建議各國要持續落實監測通報、強化相關防治科學研究、加強社區合作與投入防疫資源。國內暑假期間為M痘疫情流行高峰，8月仍新增3例M痘確定本土病例，為20至40多歲男性(北部1例及中部2例)，因身體陸續出現皮疹、水泡、膿疱等症狀，經醫師評估後採檢通報，經疫調發現皆為散發病例，呼籲具風險行為者儘速完成2劑M痘疫苗接種。
