疾病管制署（以下疾管署）は、本日12月12日「今年（2025年）のCOVID-19ワクチン接種は昨年（2024年）より活発で、65歳以上の個人へのワクチン接種は約93万3千回となり、2024年同期の71万4千回と比して30.7%増加した；
50～64歳までの約40万8千人がワクチンを接種しており、昨年同時期の34万5千人から18.3%の増加に。しかし、冬は呼吸器感染症の流行期であり、春節（旧正月）の連休中に家族や友人との往来や旅行が頻繁になり、新型コロナウイルスの感染リスクが高まること、さらにワクチンを接種しても完全に免疫力を獲得するまでに約2週間かかることなどを考慮し、
衛生福利部の感染症予防管理諮問委員会（ACIP）は、今年12月9日の会合において、公費負担によるCOVID-19のワクチン接種プログラムを来年（2026年）1月1日～2月28日まで「6か月以上ワクチン接種を受けていない人」にも拡大することを決定した。
これは、国民の免疫力を高め、感染後の重症化や死亡のリスクを軽減するためのものだ」と発表した。
疾管署は「現段階では、台湾ではモデルナ社製LP.8.1とノババックス社製JN.1のCOVID-19ワクチン2種類が利用可能であるが、これらのワクチンは、現在最も流行している変異株NB.1.8.1およびXFGに対する保護力があり、安全かつ効果的である。
滿12歳以上の人は、いずれかの銘柄のワクチンを選択でききるが、生後6か月から11歳までのお子様は、モデルナのワクチンのみを接種が可能となる。国民には早急にワクチンの接種をし、免疫力を高めてほしい」と説明している。
疾管署は「COVID-19ワクチンに関する国内の有害事象報告データによると、ワクチン関連の有害事象発生率は、インフルエンザワクチンと同程度にまで減少しているが、しかしながら、COVID-19感染後に重篤な合併症を発症するリスクは依然インフルエンザよりも高く、国民はCOVID-19の脅威を軽視してはならないと注意喚起している。特に65歳以上の人や慢性疾患を有するハイリスクグループにあっては、特に注意を払わねばならず、高齢者や幼児を守るため、来年1月1日から家族全員のワクチン接種が可能となる。

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced today (December 12th) that this year (2025), COVID-19 vaccination activity is higher than last year (2024), with approximately 933,000 vaccinations administered to individuals aged 65 and above, a 30.7% increase compared to 714,000 in the same period of 2024; approximately 408,000 vaccinations were administered to individuals aged 50-64, an 18.3% increase compared to 345,000 in the same period of 2024.

CDC explained that currently, two brands of COVID-19 vaccines are available in Taiwan: Moderna LP.8.1 and Novavax JN.1, both are effective and safe against the most prevalent variants, NB.1.8.1 and XFG.
Though people aged 12 and above can choose one brand to be vaccinated, while children aged 6 months to 11 years can only choose the Moderna vaccine. The public is urged to get vaccinated as soon as possible to strengthen their immune system.
CDC pointed out that domestic adverse event reporting data for COVID-19 vaccines shows that the incidence of adverse events related to COVID-19 vaccines has decreased to a level comparable to that of influenza vaccines, however, the risk of severe complications after COVID-19 infection is still higher than that of influenza.
The public is reminded not to ignore the threat of the disease, especially those over 65 years of age and high-risk groups with chronic diseases. To protect elderly family members and young children, the whole family can get vaccinated against COVID-19 starting January 1, 2026.
