疾病管制署（以下疾管署）は本日（9月2日）「台湾では先週（8月26日～9月1日）に類鼻疽症5例が新たに報告されたが、いずれも南部地区居住であり、年齢的には30代～60代、全員に糖尿病や高血圧等の慢性疾患歴があった。 発症日は8月の上旬から下旬となっている。患者らは、発熱や咳、喘ぎなどを主訴として病院を受診、疫学調査により見つかったものだ。2例の患者には仕事上、汚水や汚泥への暴露歴があった；5例の患者全員が入院治療中であり、同居の接触者からは疑わしい症状は見つかっていない。更に、先週新たに類鼻疽の死亡者2例が出ているが、彼らはいずれも先週公開された患者で、南部在住の70代男性と90代女性で、いずれも9月中旬に発熱や呼吸困難などの症状が現れたが汚水や汚泥への暴露歴はないものの高血圧などの慢性疾患歴があり、うち1例には癌の病歴があり、病状が悪化し続け8月下旬に死亡した」と発表した。
疾管署は「先週、新たに3例のレプトスピラ症本土症例がみつかったが、台湾北部の2例、中部の1例となっており、年齢は50代～70
代で、8月上旬から下旬にかけて発症していた。うち、8月下旬に症状が発現した症例については、現在疫学調査が行われているところだ；他の2例は発熱や下痢などの症状で病院を受診したが、いずれの症例も潜伏期間中に海外への渡航歴はなく、全員にネズミの出没するような高リスク環境や汚水汚泥への曝露歴があったが、治療後に全て退院しており、同居人や職場の接触者には疑わしい症状がなく、衛生単位は既に関連健康教育を提供している」としている。

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced today (September 2) that 5 new local cases of melioidosis were reported in Taiwan last week (August 26-September 1). All patients resided in the southern region. The patients ranged in age from their 30s to 60s and had a history of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Their onset occurred between early and late August. Most cases sought medical attention for symptoms such as fever, headache, cough, and shortness of breath. Investigations revealed that 2 cases had a history of work-related exposure to sewage sludge. All 5 cases are currently hospitalized, and none of their cohabitants have any suspected symptoms. In addition, 2 new cases of melioidosis deaths were reported last week. Both were cases announced last week. They were a man in his 70s and a woman in her 90s in the south. Both developed symptoms such as fever and difficulty breathing in mid-August. Neither had a history of contact with sewage sludge, and both had a history of chronic diseases such as hypertension. One of them had a history of cancer and died in late August due to continued deterioration of her condition.
The CDC stated that three new local cases of leptospirosis were reported last week: of which 2 lived in northern Taiwan and 1 in central Taiwan. Among them, the case with symptoms that occurred in late August is still under epidemiological investigation; The other two cases sought medical attention for symptoms such as fever and diarrhea, they had no history of overseas travel during the incubation period, and all have high-risk environments (rat-infested) or a history of exposure to sewage sludge. 疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(2)日公布國內上週(8/26-9/1)新增5例類鼻疽本土病例，均為居住南部地區，個案年齡介於30多歲至60多歲，皆具糖尿病、高血壓等慢性病史，發病日介於8月上旬至下旬。個案多因發燒、頭痛、咳嗽、呼吸喘等症狀就醫，經疫情調查發現，有2名個案因工作有汙水汙泥接觸史；5名個案均住院治療中，同住接觸者皆無疑似症狀。另上週新增2名類鼻疽死亡案例，均為上週已公布之個案，分別為南部70多歲男性與90多歲女性，均於8月中旬出現發燒、呼吸困難等症狀，皆無汙水汙泥接觸史，皆有高血壓等慢性病史，其中1人有癌症病史，因病情持續惡化，於8月下旬死亡。
疾管署表示上週另有新增3例鉤端螺旋體病本土病例，分別為居住於北部2例及中部1例，年齡介於50多歲至70多歲，發病日介於8月上旬至下旬。其中8月下旬發病個案尚在疫調中；另2名個案因發燒、腹瀉等症狀就醫，於潛伏期間皆無國外旅遊史，均有高風險環境(老鼠出沒)或汙水汙泥接觸史，於治療後皆已出院，同住及職場接觸者均無疑似症狀，衛生單位已進行相關衛生教育。
