中央流行疫情指揮センターは、「本3月14日、新たにCOVID-19の輸入症例1例が確定診断されたが、南ア籍の20代女性（第986号）で、本年2月19日出国前3日以内の陰性証明を持って来台し、入国後は集中隔離センターで過ごしていたが、2月20日及び3月4日に行われた隔離期間満了前検査では陰性であった」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「患者は、3月6日の検疫期間満了後、場所を変えて自主健康隔離していたが、仕事の必要性から3月12日に病院で自費検査を行ったところ本日確定診断された（Ct値は34、翌日の再検査で37となり、血清抗体IgMは陰性だったがIgG陽性となった）。 患者はこれまでずっと無症状であり、既に接触者1名が判明、在宅隔離扱いされている」と発表した。
指揮センターの統計によれば、これまでに新型コロナウィルス肺炎に関する通報は、国内累計で181,209例（排除された179,155例を含む）となった。 そのうち確診症例数は985例であり、夫々輸入症例869例、本土症例77例、敦睦艦隊36例、航空機感染2例及び不明1例となっている； この他、症例番号530は、

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (14) a new confirmed case of imported COVID-19 in China (Case 986), a South African female in her 20s. She came to work in Taiwan on February 19, 2021, and had a negative test report within 3 days before the flight. After entering the country, she went to the centralized quarantine station for isolation. After entry for quarantine on February 20 and before the expiration of the quarantine period on March 4, the results of the test were all negative.
The command center said, after the expiration of the quarantine period on March 6, the case moved to other place for further independent health management. Due to work needs, the case was examined at the hospital at his own expense on March 12, and the diagnosis was confirmed today. (Ct value 34 was retested to 37 on the next day, serum antibody IgM negative, IgG positive the next day). The case entered the country asymptomatic so far, and one contact has been identified and listed as home isolation.
According to the statistics of the command center, so far, there have been a total of 181,209 notifications related to novel coronavirus pneumonia in China (including 179,155 excluded cases). 中央流行疫情指揮中心今(14)日公布國內新增1例境外移入COVID-19確定病例(案986)，為南非籍20多歲女性，於今(2021)年2月19日來臺工作，持有搭機前3日內檢驗陰性報告，入境後至集中檢疫所檢疫，經2月20日入境採檢及3月4日檢疫期滿前採檢，結果皆為陰性。
指揮中心表示，個案於3月6日檢疫期滿後，至其他住所進行自主健康管理，因工作需要，3月12日至醫院自費採檢，於今日確診 (Ct值34，次日再驗Ct值37、血清抗體IgM陰性、IgG陽性)。個案入境迄今無症狀，已掌握接觸者1人，列居家隔離。
