10月21日、農業農村部新聞弁公室は、雲南省昭通市鎮雄県でアフリカ豚コレラ （宮本注： 以下『ASF』）が 発生したと発表した。
10月17日20時、農業農村部は、雲南省動物疾病予防管理センターが検査に出したサンプルを中国動物衛生疫学センター（国家外来動物疾病研究センター）が、ASFであると確定診断したとの中国動物疾病予防管理センター報告を受け取った。 陽性となったサンプルは、雲南省昭通市鎮雄県牛場鎮の養豚場と母享鎮の養豚専門合作社からのもので、
牛場鎮の養豚場では、飼育されていた804頭のうち、298頭が発症、298頭が病死；
母享鎮の養豚専門会社では、飼育されていた353頭のうち、247頭が発症し、247頭が病死している。

On October 21, 2018, the Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced that an African Swine Fever epidemic occurred at Zhengxiong County of Zhaotong City in Yunnan Province.
At 20 o’clock on October 20, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center mentioning that the samples submitted by the Yunnan Provincial Center for Animal Disease Control and Prevention were diagnosed as African swine fever by the China Center for Animal Health and Epidemiology (National Center for Animal Disease Research).
The samples which were turned out to be positive were from a breeding farm at Niuchang Town and a specialized breeding company at Muxiang Town of Zhenxiong District in Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province.
There are 804 live pigs being bred at Niuchang Town’s pig farmer of which 298 pigs got sick and 298 died.
There are 353 live pigs being bred at Muxiong Town’s pig breeding company of which 247 pigs got sick and 247 died.
Immediately after the outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs sent a supervising team to the site. The local government has started the emergency response mechanism according to the requirements, and adopted measures such as blockade, culling, harmless treatment, disinfection, etc., further, treated all the sick and culled pigs harmlessly. 农业农村部新闻办公室10月21日发布，云南省昭通市镇雄县发生生猪非洲猪瘟疫情。
10月20日20时，农业农村部接到中国动物疫病预防控制中心报告，云南省动物疫病预防控制中心送检样品经中国动物卫生与流行病学中心（国家外来动物疫病研究中心）确诊为非洲猪瘟。 阳性样品来自云南省昭通市镇雄县牛场镇一养殖场和母享镇一养殖专业合作社，牛场镇养殖场存栏生猪804头、发病298头、死亡298头，母享镇养殖专业合作社存栏生猪353头、发病247头、死亡247头。
