台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、「8月13日、新たにCOVID-19確診症例が18例増えたが、それぞれ、本土症例4例、輸入症例14例となっている；更に、確診症例中、新たに2例が死亡した」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに国内症例4例が増えた（うち3例は在宅隔中或いは隔離期間満了検査で陽性となった人である：（宮本注：つまり、2週間或いは3週間を超えて感染が確認された事例が斯くも多く存在しているという情報を台湾政府が認めている！）が、20代から50代までの男性2人、女性2人であり、2021年8月7日から8月09日の間に発症していた。 患者分布は、台北市と高雄市で各2例となっている； そのうち、3例の感染源は既に判明、1例は関連不明、0例が疫学調査中となっているが、関連調査は今なお進められている」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「本日新たに増えた死亡例2例中、第8852号は80代の男性で、慢性疾患歴はあるものの関連するような活動歴はなかった。 5月28日に熱発や喘ぎの症状が現れ、病院で入院治療と検査を受け、6月1日に確定診断され、6月8日に隔離を解除され、6月26日に退院したが、7月5日に他の理由で死亡した。 第14165号は、60代の男性。慢性疾患歴はあるものの関連するような活動歴はなし。6月17日に発熱症状が現れ、6月20日に病院て入院治療と検査を受け、6月21日に確定診断されたが8月4日に死亡した」と発表。
指揮センターは、「最近隔離を解除された確診症例については、5月11日～ 8月11日迄に発表された14,615例中、既に13,142人が隔離を解除されており、確診患者総数の89.9％が隔離解除されたことになる」と指摘する。

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced on Aug. 13 that there were 18 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan consisting of 4 local cases and 14 imported cases from abroad. There were 2 new deaths among the confirmed cases.
The command center said,
the newly added 4 local cases (of which 3 cases were those who tested positive during home quarantine/isolation or after the expiry date of isolation) today are 2 males and 2 females, aged in their 20s and 50s, with onset dates between Aug 07 and August 09, 2021. The distribution of cases is 2 cases each in Taipei City, and Kaohsiung City; Out of 4 local cases, 3 cases are known their sources of infection, 1 cases’ relation is unknown, 0 case is under investigation. Related epidemic investigations are ongoing.
The command center explained that two new death cases were added today. Of which the case 8852 was a mal in his 80s having history(s) of chronical disease(s) but no history of activities concerned. He went to the doctor for examination and was admitted to hospital on May 28 due to fever and wheezing. He was diagnosed on June 1, released from isolation on June 8, discharged from hospital on June 26, and died on July 5 due to other causes. Case 14165 is a male in his 60s, having a history of chronic disease and no contact with related activities. He developed fever on June 17 and sought medical examination on June 20 and was admitted to hospital. He was diagnosed on June 21 and died on August 4.
The command center pointed out that as for the recently released diagnosed cases from isolation, 13,142 people have been released from quarantine, among 14,615 confirmed cases announced from May 11 to August 11. The number of people released from quarantine has reached 89.9% of the confirmed cases.
The command center explained that today there are 14 new cases of immigration from abroad, 7 males and 7 females, aged in their 20s to 60s. They came from the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) (Case 15929), the United States (6 cases:

中央流行疫情指揮中心今(13)日公布國內新增18例COVID-19確定病例，分別為4例本土及14例境外移入；另確診個案中新增2例死亡。
指揮中心表示，今日新增之4例本土病例(其中3例為居家隔離期間或期滿檢驗陽性者)，為2例男性、2例女性，年齡介於20多歲至50多歲，發病日介於今(2021)年8月7日至8月9日。個案分布為臺北市及高雄市各2例；其中3例為已知感染源、1例關聯不明，將持續進行疫情調查，以釐清感染源。

指揮中心指出，近期確診個案解隔離情形，5月11日至8月11日累計公布14,615位確診個案中，已有13,142人解除隔離，解隔離人數達確診人數89.9%。
