The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (Dec. 24) that there were 18,066 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in China, including 17,949 local and 117 imported cases; further, there were 36 deaths.
The command center stated that the new 17949 local cases today are 8102 males and 9828 females, (19 are under investigation of gender), aged between under 5 years old and over 90s; The distribution of cases is as follows: New Taipei City (3533 cases), Taichung City (2240 cases), Taoyuan City (2062 cases), Taipei City (1994 cases), Kaohsiung City (1852 cases), Tainan City (1420 cases), Changhua County (870 cases), Hsinchu County (635 cases), Hsinchu City (560 cases), Miaoli County (427 cases), Pingtung County (397 cases), Yunlin County (316 cases), Nantou County (303 cases), Yilan County (281 cases), Chiayi County (265 cases), Keelung City (243 cases), Hualien County (172 cases), Chiayi City (159 cases), Jinmen County (93 cases), Taitung County (82 cases), Penghu County (44 cases), Lianjiang County (1 case).
