台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、本日10月05日、「新たに増えたCOVID-19確診症例は54,929例（うち本土症例54,874例、輸入症例55例）；更に、確診症例中、48例の死亡者が出た」と発表。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに増えた国内症例54,874例は、5歳未満から90代の男性25,473例、女性29,380例、性別調査中21例だ。患者分布は、新台北市（11,234例）、台中市（7,018例）、台北市（6,351例）、桃園市（6,028例）、高雄市（5,179例）、台南市（3,614例）、彰化県（2,777例）、新竹県（1,495例）、苗栗県（1,364例）、屏東県（1,299例）、新竹市（1,274例）、雲林県（1,232例）、宜蘭県（1,219例）、基隆市（1047例）、嘉義県（902例）、南投県（777例）、花蓮県（737例）、嘉義市（554例）、台東県（447例）、金門県（158例）、澎湖県（145例）、連江県（23例）となる」としている。
指揮センターは、「本日新たに増えた死亡例48例は本土症例で、40代から90代の男性28人、女性20人となる。全員が重症患者であり、44例が慢性疾患を有しており、32例は三回のワクチン未完了（67％）

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (Oct. 05) that there were 54,929 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in China, including 54,874 local and 55 imported cases; further, there were 48 deaths.
