中央流行疫情指揮センターは、「本4月23日、インドネシア籍40代男性貨物機パイロットには4月20日までオーストラリアへのフライトをした際、咽頭痛を自覚し、更に現地においてCOVID-19陽性となっていたとの台湾の某航空会社からの報告を受けたため、指揮センターが即座に患者の台湾での活動歴調査を開始、台湾で見つかった濃厚接触者リストの作成と検査を実施した。 うち濃厚接触者2名が陽性となり、本日確定診断された（第1090号、1091号）」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「第1090号患者は、インドネシア籍の10代男性で、当該パイロットの同居者だが、最近の渡航歴はない。 4月21日に在宅隔離とされた同パイロットの濃厚接触者であり、衛生単位により病院で検査を受けたが、彼は4月22日にはのどの渇きと痛み、眩暈などの症状が現れており、本日確定診断された（Ct値90）」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「第1091号患者は、インドネシア籍の50代男性で、当該パイロットの同僚で、4月4日から10日まで米国へのフライトについていたが期間中に症状は無く、帰台後4月15日に隔離期間満了時の検査を受けたが陰性であった（宮本注： パイロットは『2週間ではなく数日の隔離しかしていない』ようです）； 患者には、4月16日に疲労感や微熱が現れたが、同日昼間には当該パイロットと1090号患者とともに台北の清真寺（Taipei Mosque：イスラム教寺院）での行動を共にしており、4月18日に軽い咳の症状が現れたが服薬後に症状が改善していた。 インドネシアに親戚を訪ねる予定があったため4月21日

The Central Epidemic Command Center stated today (23, April) that Taiwan received a notification from an airline in Taiwan today (2021) that an Indonesian male cargo jet pilot in his 40s was on duty until April 20. When he was in Australia, he had a sore throat and detected positive COVID-19 locally. The command center immediately initiated an investigation of the case’s history of activities in Taiwan, and listed close contacts and checked them in Taiwan. Among them, 2 contacts were detected. They were positive and diagnosed today (Case 1090, 1091).
The command center said, The Case 1090 is an Indonesian male in his 10s who lives with the pilot’s family and has no recent history of going abroad. On April 21, he was listed as a home isolation contact, and the health unit arranged for medical examination. He developed sore throat, dizziness and other symptoms on April 22, and was diagnosed today (Ct value 30).
The command center pointed out that the Case 1091 is an Indonesian male in his 50s who is a colleague of the pilot. He was on duty to the United States from April 4 to April 10 and was asymptomatic. After he returned to Taiwan, the quarantine period expired on April 15, and the result was negative; The case felt exhausted and slightly warmed on April 16, at noon on the same day with the pilot and case 1090 went to a Taipei Mosque. 中央流行疫情指揮中心今(23)日表示，我國今(2021)年4月21日接獲我國某航空公司通報，該公司1名印尼籍40多歲男性貨機機師，4月20日執勤至澳洲時，自覺出現喉嚨癢情形，並於當地檢出COVID-19陽性，指揮中心隨即啟動個案在臺活動史之調查，並針對在臺接觸者匡列及採檢，其中2名接觸者檢出陽性，於今日確診(案1090、1091)。
指揮中心表示，案1090為印尼籍10多歲男性，為該名機師之同住家人，近期無出國史，4月21日匡列為居家隔離接觸者，並由衛生單位安排就醫採檢，4月22日出現喉嚨乾痛、暈眩等症狀，於今日確診(Ct值30)。
