疾病管制署は、本日10月17日、「先週デング熱の地域母子垂直感染の新たな症例を発表したが、患者は、今年（2023年）10月11日に生まれ、母親もまた確診症例だ。当該新生児には10月15日に発熱症状が現れ、当日の診察の結果、母子間の垂直感染と判断されたが、現在病院にて入院治療中である」と発表した。 疾病管制署は、妊婦及び新生児を保護する最も有効な方法は、家の内外で蚊の繁殖源を除去し、蚊対策を講じることであり； 新生児には明るい色の長袖シャツや長ズボンを着用やドアや窓への網戸設置、蚊帳の使用などの物理的方法で蚊を防ぐことにあると注意喚起
