台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、8月22日、「新たにCOVID-19確診症例が10例増えたが、それぞれ、本土症例6例、輸入症例4例となっている；更に、確診症例中、新たに0例が死亡した」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに国内症例6例（うち2例は在宅隔中或いは隔離期間満了検査で陽性となった人である：（宮本注：つまり、2週間或いは3週間を超えて感染が確認された事例が一定数存在しているという情報を台湾政府が認めている！）が増えたが、5歳未満から90代の男性3例、女性3例で、うち1人は2021年8月21日から8月21日の間に発症、その他の5例は無症状感染者となる；患者分布は台北市が3例、次いで新北市、桃園市及び雲林県各1例となった。 そのうち、3例の感染源は既に判明、1例は関連不明、2例が疫学調査中となっているが、関連調査は今なお進められている」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「最近隔離を解除された確診症例については、5月11日～ 8月20日迄に発表された14,707例中、既に13,580人が隔離を解除されており、確診患者総数の92.3％が隔離解除されたことになる」と指摘する。

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced on Aug. 22 that there were 10 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan consisting of 6 local cases and 4 imported cases from abroad. There was 1 new death among the confirmed cases.
The command center said, the newly added 6 local cases (of which 2 cases were those who tested positive during home quarantine/isolation or after the expiry date of isolation) today are 3 males and 3 females aged between under 5 years old and in their 90s. As for the onset date of 1 case was between Aug 21 and August 21, the other 5 cases are asymptomatic infection. The distribution of cases is 3 cases in Taipei City, 1 case each in New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Yunlin County; Out of 6 local cases, 3 cases are known their sources of infection, 1 case’s relation is unknown, 2 cases are under investigation. Related epidemic investigations are ongoing.
The command center pointed out that as for the recently released diagnosed cases from isolation, 13,580 people have been released from quarantine, among 14,707 confirmed cases announced from May 11 to August 16. The number of people released from quarantine has reached 92.3% of the confirmed cases.

中央流行疫情指揮中心今(22)日公布國內新增10例COVID-19確定病例，分別為6例本土及4例境外移入；另確診個案中無新增死亡。
指揮中心表示，今日新增之6例本土病例(其中2例為居家隔離期間或期滿檢驗陽性者)，為3例男性、3例女性，年齡介於未滿5歲至90多歲，其中1例發病日為今(2021)年8月21日、餘5例為無症狀感染。個案分布為臺北市3例，新北市、桃園市及雲林縣各1例；其中3例為已知感染源、1例關聯不明、2例疫調中，將持續進行疫情調查，以釐清感染源。
指揮中心指出，近期確診個案解隔離情形，5月11日至8月20日累計公布14,707位確診個案中，已有13,580人解除隔離，解隔離人數達確診人數92.3%。
