中央流行疫情指揮センターは、本5月18日、台湾では新たにCOVID-19確診症例が245例増えたが、それぞれ本土症例240例及び、輸入症例5例；確診されていた患者中新たに2例が死亡した（第1522号、2095号）と発表した。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに240人の国内症例が見つかったが、5歳から90代までの男性112人、女性128人で、発病日/検査日については、2021年5月5日～5月17日であった。 居住地については、新北市106例（中和区が33例で最多）、台北市102例（萬華区が48例で最多）、桃園市12例、彰化県10例、基隆市及び高尾市各3例、新竹県2例、新竹市及び雲林県各1例となっている。うち、台北茶芸館関連は88例や萬華地区での活動関連者67例、某社会団体関連2例、南部進香園2例、宜蘭遊技場1例。クラスターの関連不明な人は51例、感染源調査中は29例となっているが、関連の調査が進行中である」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「新たに増えた死亡患者はそれぞれ、第1522号と第2095号となる。うち、1522号は60代女性で、萬華（宮本注： 茶芸館のある地区です）で働いていたが、5月10日に発熱が現れ、5月14日に病院で検査を受け、5月16日に確診された。 患者は17日、自宅で療養していたが、同日救急センターに送られ、治療の甲斐なく死亡した。第2095号は、慢性疾患歴のある80代男性入院患者だが、5月16日に濃厚接触者の検査で陽性となった（Ct値は約25）。 彼は5月17日に容態が悪化したため、救急措置をするも不幸にも死亡した。これにより、台湾の累計死亡者数は14例となった」としている。
指揮センターは、「本日新たに増えた輸入症例は5例となる。第2071号、2072号はインドネシア籍の20代男性漁師で、出国前72時間以内の陰性証明報告書を携えて5月3日にインドネシアから入境した。彼ら

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced on May 18 that there were 245 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, 240 local cases and 5 cases imported from abroad; 2 new deaths were confirmed among thealready diagnosed cases (Case 1522, Case 2095).
The command center said, the newly added 240 cases in Taiwan today are 112 males and 128 females. The age ranged from under 5 to over 90s. The date of onset/collection was between May 5 and May 17, today (2021). The counties and cities of residence are 106 cases in New Taipei City (33 cases in Banqiao District),102 cases in Taipei City (48 cases in Wanhua District), 12 cases in Taoyuan City, 10 cases in Changhua County, 3 cases in Keelung City and Kaohsiung City, 2 in Xinzhu County, 1 in Xinzhu City and Yunlin County.
Among them there are 88 cases in Taipei Tea House, 67 cases related to Wanhua’s history of activities, 2 cases related to the Southern Fragrance Group, 2 cases related to a group gathering, and 1 case related to Yilan Game Center. There were 29 cases in the epidemic investigation and 51 cases with unknown clustering associations. Related epidemic investigations are ongoing.
The command center explained that the newly added death cases were Case 1522 and Case 2095. Among them, 1522 was a woman in her 60s who worked in Wanhua. She developed fever on May 10 and went to a doctor for examination on May 14, and was diagnosed on May 16. 中央流行疫情指揮中心今(18)日公布國內新增245例COVID-19確定病例，分別為240例本土及5例境外移入；確診個案中新增2例死亡（案1522、案2095）。
指揮中心表示，今日新增之240例本土個案為112例男性、128例女性，年齡介於未滿5歲至90多歲，發病日/採檢日介於今(2021)年5月5日至5月17日，居住縣市分別為新北市106例(中和區33例最多)、臺北市102例(萬華區48例最多)、桃園市12例、彰化縣10例、基隆市及高雄市各3例、新竹縣2例、新竹市及雲林縣各1例。其中臺北茶藝館88例、萬華區活動史67例、某社團相關群聚2例、進香團2例、宜蘭遊藝場1例。群聚關聯不明51例、疫調中29例。相關疫情調查持續進行中。
指揮中心說明，新增之死亡個案分別為案1522與案2095。其中案1522為60多歲女性，在萬華工作，5月10日出現發燒，5月14日就醫採檢，於5月16日確診，個案17日倒臥家中，同日送醫急救無效不幸死亡。
案2095為80多歲男性住院病人，有慢性病史，於5月16日進行接觸者檢驗檢出陽性，Ct值約25。5月17日因病情惡化，經急救後仍不幸死亡。我國至今累計14例死亡個案。 指揮中心指出，今日新增之5例境
