疾管署（以下、CDC）は本日（3月19日）、「国内の新型コロナは緩やかに減少をしており、先週（3月12日～3月18日）新たに増えた本土確診症例（合併症）は409例となり、前週（3月05日～3月11日）の408例とほぼ同等、合併症のうち65歳以上の高齢者が79％を占めていた；更に、先週新たに増えた死者数は51例となり、前週の死者数60例と比して下降しており、死者中では65歳以上の高齢者が90％を占めていた；国内の流行状況は落ち着きを見せているが、依然として合併症が多発しており、流行拡大のリスクは引き続き存在していることから、合併症のリスクには注意が必要だ。直近の4週間に観測された変異株の総計は、本土症例中から検出されたウイルスではJN.1（92％：5％の増加）が最多で、これにBA.2.86（7％）及びXBB.1.16（1％）とXBB.1.5（1％）などが次いでおり；輸入症例中から検出されたウイルスについてはJN.1が主（86％：4％の増加）が最多であり、BA.2.86（11％）及びEG.5（3％）がこれ
