疾管署（以下、CDC）は本日（3月05日）、「国内におけるCOVID-19の流行は上昇して高止まりしているが、先週（2月27日～3月04日）新たに増えた本土確診症例（合併症）は523例となり、前週（2月20日～2月26日）の648例から減少、合併症のうち65歳以上の高齢者が79％を占めていた；更に、先週新たに増えた死者数は70例となり、前週の死者数78例と比して下降しており、死者中では65歳以上の高齢者が90％を占めていた；更に、児童2例が死亡しており、今年初のこととなったが、新型コロナにそれぞれ脳炎と肺炎を併発し不幸にも他界した。
