CDCは、先週（1月30日～2月05日）新たに増えた本土確診症例（合併症）は567例となり、前週（1月23日～1月29日）の546例から増加したが、合併症のうち65歳以上の高齢者が79％を占めていた；更に、先週新たに増えた死者数は65例となり、前週の死者数64例と比して上昇しており、死者中では65歳以上の高齢者が90％を占めていた；新型コロナのXBBワクチン接種の開始以来、本土で通報された確診合併症者数と死者数中ではXBBワクチン未接種者がそれぞれ98％及び99％となっている。過去4週間に観測されている変異株の総計は、本土症例中から検出されたウイルスはJN.1（64％：12%増）が最多で、これにEG.5（25％：10％の減少）及びXBB.2.86（6％：新規登場）などが次いでおり；輸入症例中から検出されたウイルスについてはJN.1が主（82％：4％増加）が最多であり、EG.5（10％：3％減）及びBA.2.86（6％：1％減）などがこれに次いでいる。
