疾病管制署（以下CDC）は本日2月20日、台湾では2022年6月23日Mpoxを第二類法定感染症に指定したが、2024年2月19日時点で累計確診症例数は360例（本土症例340例、輸入症例20例）となっているが、2023年11月13日に台湾最後の患者が見つかってから既に14週連続で新たな本土確診症例は報告されておらず、WHOのいう「診断と監視報告の改善により、3か月以内に症例が発生しないこと」という根絶条件に合致したが、最近海外から輸入されたM-poxの確診症例がまだ1例あり、男性は１月末に中国から入国していた20代の台湾籍男性だがワクチンは未接種だった。2月上旬、体に潰瘍及び水疱が現れたために病院を受診後に確定診断され通報したが、これは本年初の輸入症例であり、海外からの輸入リスクは依然として存在していることが示されている。特に、西太平洋と東南アジア地域における流行は昨年後半に大幅に増加しており、12月以降は減速し始めており； 欧州では昨年10月から流行が増加し、今な
