疾管署（以下、CDC）は本日（2月20日）、「国内におけるCOVID-19の流行は上昇して高止まりしているが、先週（2月13日～2月19日日）新たに増えた本土確診症例（合併症）は711例となり、前週（2月06日～2月12日）の435例から増加し、昨年（民国112年）8月以来の単一の週として最高値を更新したが、合併症のうち65歳以上の高齢者が79％を占めていた；更に、先週新たに増えた死者数は63例となり、前週の死者数68例と比して下降しており、死者中では65歳以上の高齢者が90％を占めていた；直近の4週間に観測された変異株の総計は、本土症例中から検出されたウイルスはJN.1（69％）が最多で、これにEG.5（22％）及びBA.2.86（8％）などが次いでおり；輸入症例中から検出されたウイルスについてはJN.1が主（88％）が最多であり、EG.5（8％）及びBA.2.86（5％）などがこれに次いでいる。
