疾病管制署（以下、CDC）は本日（3月19日）、今年（2024年）初の百日咳確診症例を発表。患者は北部の生後1カ月の男児で、3月2日に咳や鼻水症状が現れ、3月4日、咳が止まらなかったので病院を受診し、集中治療室に入院、検査の結果、12日に確定診断されたが、現在、咳は改善し容体も安定しており、3月11日に退院した。同居家族2名には疑い症状はなく、既に検査や予防薬の手配が行われている。
CDC の監視データによると、2019年から2023年における同時期の百日咳患者数は各14例、4例、0例、0例、0例で、年間累計患者数は0例から32例で、そのほとんどが生後3か月未満の嬰児であり（51%）、

The Department of Disease Control (hereinafter referred to as the CDC) announced today (March 19) the first confirmed case of pertussis this year (2024). The patient is a 1-month-old boy from northern Taiwan who developed cough and runny nose on March 2, On March 4, he sought medical treatment due to persistent cough and was admitted to the intensive care unit for hospitalization. 疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(19)日公布今(2024)年首例百日咳確定病例，為北部1個月大之男嬰，於3月2日出現咳嗽、流鼻水情形，3月4日因持續咳嗽就醫，並收治加護病房住院治療，經採檢通報後於3月12日確診，目前個案咳嗽情形緩解，病況穩定，已於3月11日出院。同住家人2人均無疑似症狀，已安排採檢及預防性投藥。
