15日、新疆児童医院が新疆初の結合双生児の分離手術に成功した。 二日間の観察を経て、この双生児は、新生児ICUにいるがバイタルサインは正常で、精神状態も良好だ。
この結合双生児姉妹の両親はウルムチからやってきた。 11月12日、この双生児姉妹は早産で生まれ、体重4500グラムであった。 生まれてきた姉妹は独立した頭部、四肢を有しているが、先天的奇形により、胸腹部が繋がっており、胸骨と臍帯は同じものが使われており、状況は楽観できなかった。
11月13日、新疆児童医院の李水学副院長は、外科や麻酔科、手術室及び新生児科のチームを率いてこの結合双生児姉妹に術前評価と分析を行った。 手術前、Bモード超音波検査と核磁気検査により、この双子の胸骨と上腹部壁がつながっていること、肝臓もつながっている恐れがあることが判明した。

On the 15th, Xinjiang’s first conjoined infant separation operation was successfully completed in Xinjiang Children’s Hospital. After two days of observation, the twins were in the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital with normal vital signs and good mental condition.
The parents of this conjoined baby girl are from Urumqi. On November 12, the Siamese baby girl was born prematurely, weighing 4500 grams. The baby girl was born with independent head and limbs, but because of congenital deformities, their chest and abdomen were joined together, sharing the same breastbone and umbilical cord. On November 13, Li Shuixue, deputy dean of Xinjiang Children’s Hospital, organized a team of surgery, anesthesiology, operating room, and neonatology to evaluate and analyze the pair of Siamese twin girls. Before the operation, it was found after B-ultrasound and nuclear magnetic examination that the sternum and upper abdominal wall of the conjoined twins were connected, and the liver might be connected.
It is challenging for the Pediatric Surgery team of Xinjiang Children’s Hospital that has not yet carried out this kind of operation. “We may have to perform sternum, abdominal wall and liver separation surgery for this pair of conjoined twins.
