民政総署が4月18日夕刻沙梨頭のマーケットで抽出した鳥販売屋台の環境資料中、151番ブースのサンプルからH7亜型鳥インフルエンザ陽性反応が検出された。 特区政府は直ちに緊急対応体制を起動、衛生局が関連マーケットの家禽従業員に対して医学観察を実施している。 同時に、公衆の健康を確保するために、4月19日から21日間マカオ内の家禽販売マーケットを暫時停止させ、卸売や屠殺及び販売場所の消毒洗浄を行うと決定した。
市民大衆の健康利益を確保する為、当局はOIE（国際獣疫事務局）のガイドラインを参考に、民政総署は4月19日早朝に全面的に卸売市場内の活禽8,000羽以上の殺処分と市場内の徹底消毒を行い、あわせて4月19日からマカオでの家禽販売を21日間暫時停止することとした。 同時に、マカオ全市の鳥販売屋台についても全面的に洗浄消毒が進められる。

On April 18, the IACM confirmed that samples taken from environmental samples collected at stall #151 of Shapiro’s Market were found to be positive for the H7 subtype avian flu. The SAR Government immediately started an emergency mechanism. The Bureau of Health conducted medical surveillance of poultry handlers in relevant markets. At the same time, in order to ensure public health, it has decided to suspend the trading of live poultry in Macao from April 19 for a total of 21 days, and to clean and disinfect the wholesale, slaughter and retail establishments.
To ensure the health benefits of the general public, after referring to the guidelines of the World Organization for Animal Health, the IACM totally culled more than 8,000 live poultry in the wholesale market and thoroughly sterilized the environment in the early morning of April 19. 民政总署四月十八日傍晩确认在临时沙梨头街市抽取三鸟档的环境样本中，检测到来自151号档的样本呈H7亚型禽流感阳性反应。特区政府即时启动紧急机制，卫生局并对相关街市家禽从业员进行医学监察。同时，为确保公众健康，决定从四月十九日起共21日暂停澳门活家禽买卖交易，及对批发、屠宰及零售等场所进行清洗及消毒工作。
为确保市民大众的健康利益，当局在参考世界动物卫生组织的指引后，民署於四月十九日凌晨全面销毁批发市场内八千多只活禽并对环境进行彻底消毒，以及四月十九日起，澳门实施暂停活家禽买卖21日。同时，全澳门各街市的三鸟档，亦进行了全面的清洗及消毒工作。
