The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health is today (April 20) closely monitoring one human case of avian influenza A(H5N6) in the Mainland, and again urged the public to maintain strict personal, food and environmental hygiene both locally and during travel.
Details of the case is as follows:
The case 1: a 56-year-old male living in Deyang City in Sichuan Province. He had contact with a live poultry(s) before onset. He developed symptoms on March 31, 2022, and was admitted for treatment on Apr. 04. At present, his condition is critical.
From 2014 to date, 77 human cases of avian influenza A(H5N6) have been reported by Mainland health authorities.

卫生署卫生防护中心今日（四月二十日）正密切监察内地新增一宗人类感染甲型禽流感（H5N6）个案，并再次呼吁市民，不论在本地或外游期间，应时刻保持个人、食物和环境卫生。
个案涉及一名居于四川省德阳市的56岁男子，于发病前曾接触活家禽。他于三月三十一日出现病征，并于四月四日入院接受治疗，现时情况严重。
自二○一四年至今，内地卫生当局通报共77宗人类感染甲型禽流感（H5N6）个案。
卫生防护中心发言人说∶「所有新型甲型流感，包括H5N6，在香港均为法定须呈报传染病。」
市民如到内地或其他受影响地区，紧记避免到湿货街市、活禽市场或农场。探访亲友时，留意是否有散养
