疾病管理予防センター（以下CDC）は、「8月08日、台湾で新たにサル痘（Mpox）の症例7例が増えたが、全員台湾籍の男性で、居住県・市は北部（3例）、中部（2例）、南部（2例）、東部（0例）となっており、年齢的には20代～40代となる。 発症日は7月24日～8月01日となっており、発熱やリンパ腺腫大、水疱、膿疱などの症状が相次いで現れ、医師の診察を受けたのちに検査・報告され、8月02日～8月06日の間に確診された。疫学調査の結果、高リスクの接触者計13名がリスト化され、既に健康教育と21日間の自己健康観察を受けている。台湾は2022年6月23日以来、Mpoxを第二類の法廷感染症に指定しているが、8月07日までに累計で266例（本土症例250例、輸入症例16例）が確診されており、うち221例は
