10月17日、農業農村部新聞弁公室は、遼寧省盤錦市でアフリカ豚コレラ （宮本注： 以下『ASF』）が 検出されたと発表した。
10月16日20時、農業農村部は、中国動物衛生疫学センター（国家外来動物疾病研究センター）が、遼寧省盤錦市大窪区西安鎮にある養豚家でのASF発生を確定診断したとの中国動物疾病予防管理センター報告を受け取った。当該養殖家では、161頭のブタが飼育されていたが、43頭が発症し、43頭が病死している。

On October 17, 2018, the Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced that Panjin City of Liaoning Province detected an African Swine Fever epidemic.
At 20 o’clock on October 16, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center reporting that the China Center for Animal Health and Epidemiology (National Center for Animal Diseases Research) diagnosed an ASF epidemic occurred at Qingan Town of Dajin District in Panjin City, Liaoning Province. 农业农村部新闻办公室10月17日发布，辽宁省盘锦市排查出生猪非洲猪瘟疫情。
10月16日20时，农业农村部接到中国动物疫病预防控制中心报告，经中国动物卫生与流行病学中心（国家外来动物疫病研究中心）确诊，辽宁省盘锦市大洼区西安镇一养殖户排查出非洲猪瘟疫情。该养殖户存栏生猪161头，发病43头，死亡43头。
