11月04日、農業農村部新聞弁公室は、湖南省湘西土家族苗族自治州（宮本注： 読み方は『湘西トゥチャ族ミャオ族自治州』）の保靖県でアフリカ豚コレラ （ 以下『ASF』）が 検出されたと発表した。
11月05日、農業農村部は、中国動物衛生疫学センター（国家外来動物疾病研究センター）が、湖南省湘西土家族苗族自治州保靖県にある養豚場でのASF発生を確定診断したとの中国動物疾病予防管理センター報告を受け取った。 当該養豚場で飼育されていた119頭のうち、11頭が発症し、4頭が病死している。

农业农村部新闻办公室11月5日发布，湖南省湘西土家族苗族自治州保靖县排查出非洲猪瘟疫情。
11月5日9时，农业农村部接到中国动物疫病预防控制中心报告，经中国动物卫生与流行病学中心（国家外来动物疫病研究中心）确诊，湖南省湘西土家族苗族自治州保靖县一养殖户排查出非洲猪瘟疫情。该养殖户存栏生猪119头，发病11头，死亡4头。
疫情发生后，农业农村部立即派出督导组赴当地。当地已按照要求启动应急响应机制，采取封锁、扑杀、无害化处理、消毒等处置措施，对全部病死和扑杀猪进行无害化处理。同时，禁止所有生猪及其产品调出封锁区，禁止生猪运入封锁区。目前，上述疫情已得到有效处置。
