11月16日、農業農村部 新聞弁公室は、雲南省昭通市威信県で アフリカ豚コレラ （宮本注： 以下『ASF』）が 検出されたと発表した。
11月16日14時、 農業農村部は、中国動物衛生疫学センター（国家外来動物疾病研究センター）が、雲南省昭通市威信県の養豚場でASF発生を確定診断したとの中国動物疾病予防管理センター報告を受け取った。 当該養豚場で飼育されていた1頭のうち、1頭が発症し、病死している。

On November 16, 2018, the Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced that an African Swine Fever epidemic was detected at Weixin County of Zhaotong City in Anhui Province.
At 14:00 on November 16, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center mentioning that the China Center for Animal Health and Epidemiology (National Center for Animal Diseases Research) detected African Swine Fever occurred at a farm in Zhaotong County of Zhaotong City in Yunnan Province. The farm had 1 live pigs of which 1 pig got sick and 1 died.
Immediately after the outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs sent a supervising team to the site. The local government has started the emergency response mechanism according to the requirements, and adopted measures such as blockade, culling, harmless treatment, disinfection, etc., further, treated all the sick and culled pigs harmlessly. 11月16日 14时，农业农村部 接到 中国动物疫病预防控制中心 报告，经中国动物卫生与流行病学中心（国家外来动物疫病研究中心）确诊，云南省昭通市威信县 一养殖户 排查出 非洲猪瘟疫情。 该养殖户 存栏 生猪1头，发病1头，死亡1头。
