疾病管制署（以下、疾管署）は本日（7月23日）、「先週（7月16日～7月22日）新たに773例（合併症）が確認され、前週（7月09日～15日）の896例（宮本注：先週発表は898例でした）より下降、これまでの合併症症例のうち65歳以上の高齢者が79％を占めている；更に、先週新たに増えた死者数は124例となり、前週の死者104例より上昇、死者中では65歳以上の高齢者が90％を占めている」と発表した。
