疾病管理局（以下、疾管署）は本日（7月16日）、先週（7/9～7/15）、台湾で新たに本土確定症例5例が確認されたと発表した。患者は、いずれも台湾北部の青壮年男性で、6月20日～7月9日の間に発症、体に皮疹や水疱、膿疱などが相次ぎ出現したが、医師の診断後に報告されたが、症例の4人はMpoxワクチンを受けてはいなかった。疾管署は、2022年6月23日からM痘 をカテゴリー2の法定感染症にしているが、7月15日までに、確診患者累計は384例（本土症例362例および輸入症例22例）。うち、本年は新たに25例（本土症例22例、輸入症例3例）が報告されており、7月も新たに本土症例9例が増えており、6月の6例と比較しても増加状態にあり、夏には大型の集会などのイベントが増え、まだまだ増加するのではとみられる。

The Department of Disease Control (hereinafter referred to as the CDC) announced today (July 16) that there were 5 new locally confirmed cases of Mpox (Mpox) in Taiwan last week (7/9-7/15). They are all young and middle-aged males, living in the northern counties and cities. The onset date was between June 20 and July 9. 疾病管制署(下稱疾管署)今(16)日公布國內上週(7/9-7/15)新增5例M痘(Mpox)本土確定病例，皆為青壯年男性，居住縣市均為北部，發病日介於6月20日至7月9日，因身體陸續出現皮疹、水泡、膿疱等症狀，經醫師評估後採檢通報，4例個案未曾接種過M痘疫苗。疾管署提醒我國自2022年6月23日將M痘列為第二類法定傳染病，截至7月15日累計確診384例病例（362例本土及22例境外移入），其中今年新增25例(22例本土及3例境外)，而7月已新增9例本土個案，相較6月新增6例，疫情呈上升趨勢，夏季大型人潮聚集活動眾多，預期疫情將持續升高。
