台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、8月18日、「新たにCOVID-19確診症例が11例増えたが、それぞれ、本土症例6例、輸入症例5例となっている；更に、確診症例中、新たに0例が死亡した」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに国内症例6例（うち0例は在宅隔中或いは隔離期間満了検査で陽性となった人である：（宮本注：つまり、2週間或いは3週間を超えて感染が確認された事例が一定数存在しているという情報を台湾政府が認めている！）が増えたが、20代から80代までの男性2人、女性4人であり、1人だけは2021年8月14日から8月14日の間に発症していたが、残りは無症状感染。 患者分布は、台北市4例、次いで新北市の2例となっている； そのうち、2例の感染源は既に判明、4例は関連不明、0例が疫学調査中となっているが、関連調査は今なお進められている」と発表した。
指揮センターは、「最近隔離を解除された確診症例については、5月11日～ 8月16日迄に発表された14,663例中、既に13,214人が隔離を解除されており、確診患者総数の90.1％が隔離解除されたことになる」と指摘する。
指揮センターは、「本日増えた輸入症例5例は、20代から40代の男性1名、女性4名だが、出国前72時間以内の陰性証明書を携えて8月17日～15日の間にそれぞれ米国（第15996号、第15998号）やサウジアラビア（第15997号）、インド（第15999号）及びフランス（第16000号）から入境していた。詳細については添付『☞ 20210818F 台湾新規増加輸入症例5名のリスト』を参照されたい」としている。
指揮センターは、「これまでに新型コロナウィルス肺炎に関する通報は、国内累計で2,407,073例（排除された2,389,646例を含む）となった。 そのうち確診症例数は15,891例であり、夫々輸入症例1,351例、本土症例 14,487例、敦睦艦隊36例、航空機感染2例及び不明1例、調査中14例となっている； この他、

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced on Aug. 18 that there were 11 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan consisting of 6 local cases and 5 imported cases from abroad. There were 0 new deaths among the confirmed cases.
The command center said, the newly added 6 local cases (of which 0 cases were those who tested positive during home quarantine/isolation or after the expiry date of isolation) today are 1 male and 4 female, aged in their 20s and 80s, with one of the case’s onset date was between Aug 14 and August 14 2021, the rest are asymptomatic infections. The distribution of cases is 4 cases in Taipei City, followed by 2 cases in New Taipei City; Out of 6 local cases, 2 cases are known their sources of infection, 4 cases’ relation is unknown, 0 case is under investigation. Related epidemic investigations are ongoing.
The command center pointed out that as for the recently released diagnosed cases from isolation, 13,214 people have been released from quarantine, among 14,663 confirmed cases announced from May 11 to August 16. The number of people released from quarantine has reached 90.1% of the confirmed cases.
The command center explained that, Today, there are 5 new cases of overseas immigration, one male and four females, aged in their 20s to 40s, from the United States (Case 15996, Case 15998), Saudi Arabia (Case 15997), India (Case 15999), France (Case 16000) entered the country. The entry date was between May 17 and August 15. All of them had a negative test report within 3 days before the flight, as detailed in the attachment of the press release.
The command center’s data shows there have been a total of 2,407,073 notifications related to novel coronavirus pneumonia in China (including 2,389,646 excluded cases). Among them, 15,891 cases were confirmed, 1,351 cases

中央流行疫情指揮中心今(18)日公布國內新增11例COVID-19確定病例，分別為6例本土及5例境外移入；另確診個案中無新增死亡。
指揮中心表示，今日新增之6例本土病例(均非居家隔離期間陽性者)，為2例男性、4例女性，年齡介於20多歲至80多歲，其中1例8月14日發病，餘均為無症狀感染，個案分布為臺北市4例、新北市2例；其中2例為已知感染源、4例關聯不明，將持續進行疫情調查，以釐清感染源。
