台湾中央流行疫情指揮センターは、本日10月20日、「新たに増えたCOVID-19確診症例は39,808例（うち本土症例39,763例、輸入症例45例）；更に、確診症例中、92例の死亡者が出た」と発表。
指揮センターは、「本日、新たに増えた国内症例39,763例は、5歳未満から90代の男性18,003例、女性21,746例、性別調査中14例だ。患者分布は、新台北市（7,431例）、台中市（5,196例）、高雄市（4,687例）、桃園市（4,062例）、台北市（3,781例）、台南市（3,394例）、彰化県（2,191例）、屏東県（1,384例）、新竹県（909例）、雲林県（869例）、新竹市（869例）、苗栗県（828例）、南投県（728例）、宜蘭県（686例）、嘉義県（684例）、基隆市（552例）、花蓮県（480例）、嘉義市（468例）、台東県（269例）、金門県（139例）、澎湖県（136例）、連江県（20例）となる」としている。
指揮センターは、「本日新たに増えた死亡例は、本土症例92例で、30代から90代以上の男性52人、女性40人となる。全員が重症患者であり、89例に慢性疾患が有り、65例は三回のワクチン未完了（71％）

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (Oct. 20) that there were 39,808 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in China, including 39,763 local and 45 imported cases; further, there were 92 deaths.
The command center stated that the new 39763 local cases today are 18003 males and 21746 females, (14 are under investigation of gender), aged between under 5 years old and over 90s; The distribution of cases is New Taipei City (7431 cases), Taichung City (5196 cases), Kaohsiung City (4687 cases), Taoyuan City (4062 cases), Taipei City (3781 cases), Tainan City (3394 cases), Changhua County (2191 cases), Pingtung County (1384 cases), Hsinchu County (909 cases), Yunlin County (869 cases), Hsinchu City (869 cases), Miaoli County (828 cases), Nantou County (728 cases), Yilan County (686 cases),
