中央流行疫情指揮センターは、「本5月13日、ある病院（宮本注： 台北市立聯合医院和平院区だという報道が中央社から出ています）で入院患者2名がCOVID-19として確定診断されたという情報を受け、直ちに関連衛生が調査予防活動を行うため当該病院に赴いた。
指揮センターは、「初期調査で2名は60代の男女だが、5月9日に当該病院の救急外来で治療を受け、同日及び翌10日に別々の病棟に入院していた。入院中に医療スタッフが関連リスクのある地域での活動歴を聴取し、5月12日に陰圧隔離病棟に転送するとともに、通報と検査を行い、本日夜確定診断された。 初期段階で関連したスタッフ42名が在宅隔離とされるとともに検査を受けた」としている。
指揮センターは、感染の予防策に関し検討をするために、今夜直ちに会議が開かれたが、措置には次のものが含まれる：

The Central Epidemic Command Center received a notification from a hospital today (13) that 2 inpatients were diagnosed with COVID-19, and immediately went to the hospital with relevant health units for investigation and prevention.
The command center said, both cases, after preliminary investigation, were men and women in their 60s. They went to the emergency department of the hospital for medical treatment on May 9th, and were admitted to different wards of the hospital on the same day and May 10th. During the hospitalization, the medical staff inquired about the history of activities in the relevant risk area, then transferred them to the negative pressure isolation ward on May 12 and was notified and checked, and the diagnosis was confirmed this evening. Initially, 42 relevant staff members have been listed for home isolation and inspection.

中央流行疫情指揮中心今(13)日接獲某醫院通報2名住院病患確診為COVID-19，隨即偕同相關衛生單位至該院進行調查防治
指揮中心表示，經初步調查2案均為60多歲之男性及女性，係於5月9日至該院急診就醫，並分別於當日及隔（5/10）日入住該院不同病房。住院中經醫療人員詢問其具相關風險區域活動史，遂於5月12日轉負壓隔離病房並進行通報採檢後，於今日晚間確診。初步已匡列相關工作人員42名進行居家隔離及採檢。
指揮中心說明，已隨即於今日晚間召開會議，針對疫情及防治作為進行討論，採取措施包括：
確診個案入住之病房暫停轉出及轉入，並擴大匡列接觸者。
